Question 235/70/16's

Long time lurking ,first time posting.

I will be buying new tires in the next few weeks and was thinking of going from the stock 265/70/16's to 235/70/16's. My thought was, since I do no offraoding, I could gain some MPG's and not change the ride much.

What are the pro's and con's of running 235's?

Thanks,

B.

im not a genius or anything, but i think the smaller tire you go the more gas you will use. I really dont know. I figure that your RPMs will be higher becuase the smaller tire will make more revolutions per minute. Like i said, i have no idea, just my thoughts. I dont really think the smaller tire would matter much anyways. you would gain more torque though

tires

I'm not sure what kind of tire you have on now, but if you get a highway tire like the bridgestone duler H/T, you will get better mileage as aposed to an A/t or M/t...changing to that small a tire will throw off your speedometer and cause you to run the engine at a higher rpm on the highway. If I were you, and I was looking improvement in gas mileage only I would opt for size

225/75/16, or 245/70 or 75/16....

Also the thinner the tire is the better the milage.

225 as aposed to 265

hope this helps
