22re trd camshaft

i hear nothing but how much onwers love the trd camshaft. I too am looking at this product, however the dealer wants 950 to install it. I was wondering how hard is it to actually install one myself? is it as simple as popping of the valve cover and placing it in or is it far more in depth?

One of the problems is the bolts that hold the cam in place are the head bolts. The dealer is prob also going to change the head gasket while he is there, usually would put in cam followers too (lifters). We had a guy at work that could change the cam without doing the head gasket (about 95% without a leak)
He would drain the coolant first, take out head bolts, change cam, and reassemble and torque. Took a couple hours on a CARB engine.
We did the TRD 1 cam in my son's 85 22RE, but at the same time we rebuilt the engine.
