2004 4runner

I have a 190k on my 2004 V8 sport. Love the truck. Problem started after I got new tires installed and a sway bar link drivers side came loose and ripped the boot on my cv axle. I had the cv axle replaced. But after getting up to highway speed the truck shakes violently. Almost seems like a frozen caliper pulls to the drivers side. Had my mechanic look at it said the front end was in good shape brakes ball joints etc. He ended up balancing the front tires. Any other suggestions on what the problem could be? This is a very intermittent problem which confuses me.

After the CV axle was installed was the front end alignment checked??

Are you smelling the sweet smell of burning brake lining from a seized caliper??
