Hey guys, would the 3-1 AM-FM/ CD/ Tape player from a 2002 4Runner fit into a 96' Runner. Please let me know, I'm selling my baby and need to find a way to have a fully funtional Stearo unit, my disc changer and aftermarket CD player are DEAD.

I think it might work. I bought a 2000 Toyota OEM stereo for my wife's Camry a while back. It fit mine but didn't fit hers.

Just ask the seller to take a pic of the back of the stereo and have him/her count the number of pins in each clip harness. if it matches yours, you're good to go.

Wll it's on E-bay and there is a shot of the back of the unit and I could try and count the pins but it's kind of fuzzy. We'll see, thanks Bob.

 

It's the same unit for both years but I think you'd need the theft protection code to make it work again after reconnecting it.
