Hello all, I have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma V6 automatic 4x4 California model. The transmission blew up at 60,000 miles and the engine is on its way out with 250,000 miles. I'm posting this to find any info pertaining to compatible transmissions for this truck because apparently the transmissions for this specific model and year with it also being a California model are specific to this year and truck model. I have already made phone calls to Toyota, auto dismantlers, and auto shops but have found no solid answers. My main question is if a federal model transmission of the same year will work without issues with California's save the world hippie smog requirements.
