2000 4Runner 5speed transfer case options

I am trying to determine if a 2000 4Runner with a 5speed could be purchased with the push button transfer case. I didn't find the information in the 4Runner information website.

I thought you had your swap figured out and it was so simple??

Everything just bolted right up.

What happened ?? I would really like to know Please ??

Now as far as I know and I am quite stupid The push button transfer case would not be a direct match to a manual transmission .At least in the USA market !!

Can you make it work ?? Anything can be made to work weather it is cost effective that is the question

The person that could tell you if this was ever a option is the Service Manger at your dealer.

If you have the Factory Service Manual for your 2000 4Runner if it is a option trouble shooting that combination will be in there.

I was cuirioous if only 1 transfercase was offered with 5speed models. Reason why is to determine which center console to order. The reason why is the J type VS push button transfer case shift levers come up on opposite sides of each other. The solution to that problem is to have the multi mode tcase lever heated with a torch and bent over to the same side as the J type. Prior to modifying I am installing a short throw shift kit from URD to see if that eliminates the stick interference problem.

The two different T cases are the same bolt pattern so bolting up is no problem. My swap is scheduled at the shop on the 11th. Like I previously stated, this has already been done on an 02. I've been speaking with another member on the T4R board. He's the only person I know of that has. He has given me much information to make my swap go well. I'm just asking questions to get as much info as I can to make the swap go well.

I'll let you know how it goes.

When I got my 5-speed '99, J-shift was the only option. Multi-mode was on the Limiteds, and there was no 5-speed option for the Limiteds. '99 and '00 are pretty much twins in all respects except spring height.
