New engine 20,000 miles ago due to blown head gasket deal. I elected to
replace the engine rather than deal with head issues on a high mileage engine.

oil changes at 3000 mile mark using Fram filters and Castroil 10w40
new engine came with 3 year warranty and new timing belt, idler pulley and water pump. I hope that I am good to go for years to come.

Oh - I do off-road this thing as often as possible - still my daily driver
75 miles per day. No chance of trading this truck - it's paid for a long time ago and does more for me than I ever expected of it ! It is also awesome
OFF-ROAD

did they cover you under any of the recalls when the HG blew? I need to find out if Im covered too. If so, I think I will get that ZEX 25 - 120 adjustable wet shot of nitrous....LOL

1990 4 runner was NOT covered by Toyota - I am not the original owner
and apparently it was done by the dealer before the newer style headgaskets were introduced.

I love this new engine - It ticked for around 1000 miles but has quitened off since everything has seated. The runner is powerful enough to pull my 20 foot Sea Ray and my camping trailer with no issues. Like I said -
it has always done better than I ever expected - can't beat that !

I have new Stubbs sliders that are due here today, I've re-engineered the cross-over exhaust pipe on the engine - dual exhaust down to the transfer case before re-joining the single pipe, I also have an EZ Locker that is about to be installed. I love my runner !!!!!!!

Gas mileage sucks but it is what it is !

Awesome numbers everyone!! My 99' Limited has 199503 miles, so I am almost there. I bought this Runner brand new and have used Mobile1 every 3-5k miles with Bosch filters since day one.

My single cab 5VZFE Tacoma has 310,XXX miles and its never been touched other then new plugs, wires, and routine maitence and I just put a water pump in.. Runs like a raped ape..

EDIT-Not to mention I'm still on the original clutch, and I've used motorcraft 5.0 V8 oilfilters, and some cheap industrial half synthetic oil since I inherited the truck from my brother in '05, he did the same oil changes and upkeep I do..

Also my 22R has 170,XXX and its had a water pump put in.. nothin else.. don't leak a drop of oil or nothin.

88 p/u 22re official 'DMV' mileage: 269,000. actual mileage when you add in the oversized tires: 302,000. the engine doesnt leak or burn oil, and runs strong. will run stronger when it gets out of the shop with a new transmission and HD clutch... weeee.

My 96 4Runner has 237,000 miles on it. I'm the second owner and the only major thing replaced was the A/C compressor. Knocking on Wood.

Approaching 206K, 1991 4Runner. Replaced timing chain 80k miles ago. Replaced the head about 60k miles ago but still has original valves, rockers, cam and cam sprocket. I'm the second owner, bought it with 97k miles 6 years ago. The original owner kept up with the maintenance and used conventional lubricants. I've been using synthetics since I got my hands on it. I also installed a Permacool oil cooler and filter relocation kit; the extra quart of Royal Purple helps. Replaced the alternator and ignition system but everything else (engine) is pretty much stock. Hopefully I can roll over 300k one day.
