1st Gen Air Induction Service

I took the 1988 toyota 4-runner into the Dealership yesterday. It was idling at about 300 rpm, and I thought it was going to die at every stop light I came to.
Anyway, the problem was described as the "IDLE AIR BYPASS PASSAGE GUMMED UP WITH CARBON DEPOSITS". The fix: "REMOVED IDLE AIR BYPASS VALVE TO ACESS PORT FOR CLEANING". That being done seems to have fixed the problem.
However, the dealership always has something they recommend you do in addition to what they do to fix the job you request they fix. They recommended: "TECH RECOMMENDED AN AIR INDUCTION SERVICE TO CLEAR THE OTHER PORTS AND PASSAGES OF CARBON BUILD UP. EST $130

He described it as using some kind of fluid they run through the system. How can I do this on my own? What kind of fluid do you think they were talking and where do I pour it into my 1st Gen V6 engine? thanks,

How about the famous "seafoam" through the PCV valve. that is prolly what $130 air induction service is.

Never got the hang of Sea Foam through the PCV valve hose. As soon as I pull the hose off me PCV valve the engine stalls.

It shouldnt stall. it might stutter, but not stall. Try giving it some gas to keep it alive.
