Just got a 1996 4runner has 170k miles on it, and currently has a burnt valve and wont pass smog, does anyone know about how much it is to get it repaired? Also needs new timing belt and water pump, but it currently runs fine just sometimes shakes a slight bit when at a stop.

If you want to take the head to a machine shop for a valve job, then it would only be $100-$200 for the job, and $30 to $60 for gaskets. Bringing to a shop will be much more.. What are you planning on?

yeah dude the truck was on craiglist in slo, emailed the guy right away and he called me super quick and then i got it the next day was so stoked on it. I really don't know what I'm planning on doing with it yet.

 

had to remove the dash and door panels to get my windows to work in it, they had a aftermarket security system that they removed and made the speakers and windows not work, the speakers are going to take for ever to rewire and find the cords, the windows took about an hour to get working again.
