1" Rear Block, opinions?
Hey guys,
I finally got everything on my truck fixed so now Im ready to buy my lift(all toytec). For what I want Ive narrowed it down to a 2" front spacer and a rear 1" block. Ive heard the blocks can fail while wheeling but when the truck does get wheeled there isnt a whole lot of extreme flexing or crawling, so would this be a good choice? Will I have to deal with any driveline vibrations? I know AAL's are better but I thats not the route I want go yet. Opinions? Thanks in advance -Tommy Wadden

well, of course they will tell you "it won't be a problem"...they want to sell you something. Besides that, I don't think blocks are as big a problem as most people say. I have had 2" blocks for about two years w/o any problems. I make sure to re-torque my u-bolts every month.

1" isn't too bad.
The reason people don't like block, myself included, is that they can easily "spit out". This can happen on the street as well as the trail. Kinda lame for you, but super bad for anyone standing behind the truck. I've witnessed this, and it is NOT pretty.
The reason blocks spit out is from axle wrap, which happens to any leaf sprung truck when you apply power. The blocks only make it worse.
However, 1" is really not a big deal at all. 2" is about the limit. Above that, you are looking to spit blocks in a hurry.
