I think it is some sort of a resonator, but just wanted to check before I had it cut off. If you look at the end of the exhaust on the '03, about 10" from the tip there is a strange bulge (right behind the rear tire). Anybody know for sure what that is? I have been looking to have a stainless tip welded on , but if I don't need that, I don't want it.

 

Are the stainless tips just for looks? Just curious.

 

Yep. If you look at the '03 it just looks funky with that pipe sticking out. I wish I could find more of a Brushed tip, but that just don't make them.
