02' 4Runner RS3200 alarm programming

I was adding a remote transmitter fob to my RS3200 factory alarm system this month. The dealer quoted me $65.00 over the phone for a remote. When I got to the dealer, the price became $165.00 plus $35.00 for programming the thing. My jaw dropped.

They convinced me I had to have a "factory" remote, instead of the "accessory" remote that I was quoted over the phone. OK, so what's the difference? (besides price) No one knows... Why cant I have the cheaper "accessory" remote? No one knows but I needed the factory remote...

So now I'm pissed off at them. I learn from another forum (!) that the two remotes have different programming techniques. There are techniques listed at:

http://www.geocities.com/rtparts7/

but I'm told by romaniatoyotaparts.com that these instructions are for accessory remotes and that the instructions for the factory remotes are very different.

So here's my gig: I've bought two new factory remotes for a Toyota Matrix RS3200 system at auction for a song. I'm betting that they'll program for the '02 4Runner factory RS3200 system just fine. But I need your help. I need the factory programming instructions for the 4Runner system. Can anyone supply them to me?

What I'll do in return is post my results. No one else should be taken for this ride from their dealer...

Thanks...

Angry TOYOTA remote's

I feel your pain brother!!!! I just purchased an '01 Limited 4X4 (grotesquely stock) from a Dealer here in central TX, and the vehicle only came with 1 remote and 1 key. OK...I asked for the other black key and the grey key that came with it, including the additional remote...well, his answer was
"We are not obligated to get you the entire set of keys and remotes."
WTF!!??
This is a certified vehicle which I thought meant the dealer verified this vehicle and resell it AS IT WAS brand new?!?
Well, the blank keys (as I'm sure everyone knows) are $100.00 and remotes are about $70.00. Needless to say, I am launching a formal complaint as well as checking the auctions for other remotes too!
I'll be looking for those instructions as well.

Never heard of that one! Use the search feature above and search "RS3200"---I recall someone talking about it.

I purchased the RS3000 alarm from one of the members here and easily programmed the extra two remotes I bought from ebay sellers. Piece of cake.

I see you are a newbie here...welcome aboard!
