Here are some pictures of the Hella 500's with the smoke shields on them mounted behind the Grillecraft grille. They were made in Germany and I plan on doing the HID conversion, but first I wanted to experiment with some spray paint.
I understand that painting the rim reduces the light output and focus factor. Hopefully the HID will make up for it.

I lowered the control box on my Smittybilt winch so the light beam would just barely clear.
