So I pulled out the old rear end which came out of an 81 to put in a IFS rear end (which was what went in there in the first place). I have thought these past few months that darn 81 axle had a 3.90 in it. Got up a wild hair and pulled the diff to actually see and to my suprise it turned out to be 4.37 third!! So glad I didn't end up sellin it for $50

Alright here we are. Some darn progress on this thing. It may not be much but... I can officially say I have started.
Started tear down on the front axle. Didn't get far (got a late start). But I pulled the hub assy off, pulled the rotors off the hub, and got the bearings/races out and cleaned up. Definitely not gonna try to salvage these. Bearing chips all over the grease. But it helps having a lifetime warranty of them.
Started with this:
and ended with this
I will start the rest of the tear down and start cutting brackets and cleaning it up some tomorrow after I finish doin the rotors and bearings on dad's 85.

Alright more parts update. Traded my w56c for a w56a with the top shift tcase. Has 150k on it. Seems to be pretty tight. Also got my grub hooks on my buddy's old 22r. Has 125k on it and runs like a top. Looks like it's gonna be a 4 cyl build after all. Cheaper on me, especially since I'm gonna be moving here soon. I'll get to it eventually

Here is my buddy Travis' rig. 92 x cab on an 85 4Runner frame, 82 bed chopped to length, 1UZ. He's going to have a T100 rear end and a diamond up front.

It's been decided. I am going to spend the weekend down at my buddy's house workin on the runner this weekend. He wants it rollable since its sitting in his driveway. So hopefully by Sunday, I will have the 63s slung under and maybe a front axle laid up under the front end. If I can get at least the rear all finished up I will feel better about the build for sure. I would certainly like to get to cutting on the front end as well. The man in the brown suit should be paying me a visit tomorrow with my front spring hanger.

Got the rear spring hangers cut off today, right before it started snowing... More work on it tomorrow. Hopefully get the new hangers welded on and the 63 chevy's hung.
