Thats the old cam. Not sure but it was definitely over torqued in the head. Having problems. A new valve guide broke.

#4 valve on intake side is bent. Thinking it got hit in shipping or something. The top half of it is bent. It does not look like it got hit by a piston. The truck was never fired up. And same one with broken guide.

Got a new guide and valve installed at machine shop for $21.00 including parts. Head is back on and timed. Still need to adjust new rockers and put upper intake on.

Smokes after the bypass kit?
Check out LCEngineering site. They have a kit and a simple fix if you get a check engine light. For your Toy.

"This EGR block plate kit contains all plates needed to eliminate the EGR systems on 22RE/RET fuel injected engines. This kit will include: the 3 bolt plate that bolts on the cylinder head behind the intake manifold and the 2 bolt plate that bolts to the intake manifold. Bolts and washers are also included in this kit. The cylinder head plate uses the intake manifold gasket and the intake plate gasket only comes in gasket kits. If you do not have these gaskets we recommend using a thin layer of Ultra Grey silicone sealant. If your vehicle is equipped with an EGR Temp Sensor then a 10K resistor can be used to keep the CEL Code from coming on."

Feels good to have her running.
And parked back in my drive way.

Thumbs up

Drove her home after work. You can feel more torque with the new cam.

They advertise it to "create a strong low-end torque curve while still providing good pulling power up to 5,000 RPM". But mainly feel the curve in the low end.

Trying to take it easy and let everything brake in. Sucks seems like its been raining off and on the last 3wks its been down. Can't wait to take her out to my buddies farm for some trails...

Heater is not getting as hot as it use to. Either from the new thermostat or still got air in the system.

Let it run in my drive way which is at about 30 degree angle with radiator cap off. Think i finally got the air out of the system. Heater working good and no more high idle.

Only good thing about my drive way. I don't have to jack up my front end to get the air out of the coolant system. This is an old pic but this is how she looks right now. Lil muddy. Should go out to my buddy's farm tomorrow for some real mud...
