Nice build.
Booger Weldz on pirate4x4 was putting a 4WU 3 link on his runner with a 1UZ and he had some fitment issues, I'd check out his thread eventhough the build is dead. Sump placement and a flange for the oil pan was required to make the 3 link work.

The 4wheelunderground kit is all about geometry, the front, your steering, is the signal most important function on your rig. I don't have any experience with the TG kit, but the geometry is totally different. I just finished my 3link SAS using the 4WU kit, and I looked at every possible kit available, even thought about building my own kit. I would have liked to say that I designed and built my own front suspension setup, but the truth is I simply don't have the experience to throw a front link setup together. This I learned from countless hours of reading about link geometry. Just remember flat links.

Ive been worrying about that ever since I bought the kit, Im going to mock it up in the next couple days and see if it will work. I really don't want to deal with making a new pan. Hopefully i placed the engine in a different spot. If it wont fit i will probably just sell the links and buy some leafs. Im getting burnt out on the project, I want to drive it!!! I will keep you posted on the fitment. Thanks for the reply

 

I hear you on the getting burnt out, and wanna drive. My damn SAS took 10 months because, I didn't know what I was doing, but also because I didn't have all my parts together, some were back ordered for months instead of weeks like they said(thanks Marlin). I knew in the beginning that if I didn't link it now, I never would...but that's just me.
If you did go with 4WU, I can tell you that the level of customer support and knowledge will blow you away. The owner Brian is easy to reach, and is a wealth of information. The cost difference from the TG is worth it in my opinion.

Be patient and do it the way you think is best, the only thing you will regret is missing a couple wheeling trips, rather then making a hasty decision just to get her road worthy.

So I ended up exchanging the 3 link and bought the leaf sas kit. This was more in my budget and a lot easier. I finished up everything, got the solid axle under it and put some 35" MTRs. I had to shorten my rear driveline, make exhaust, and a few other misc things. I finaly test drove it the beginning of September and its a blast to drive. The power and acceleration is defiantly worth the hassle of the swap. I have 4.30 gears in now and it doesn't seam like I have 35s. I can cruise up hills in 4th and 5th gear no problem. I will take a video of acceleration. Ive taken it on some trails, nothing crazy because i don't have 4x4 yet. I need to finish extending my front driveline and match the rear end gears to the front. I figured this was a perfect time to install the new elocker. The swap has given me no issues so far, I have no check engine lights, no overheating issues, everything seams great and Ive put around 2000 miles on it.

 

What sort of mpg are you seeing?

The lift did turn out to high, I bought the 3in TG leafs but its taking for ever to settle. For gas milage is 16-17 miles per gallon this is mostly city and some highway.

 

That's what I've heard about those tg's. Also what's the deal with emissions?

 

Luckily the previous owner did emissions last year so this year was covered. Next year Ill see if it passes, if not ill end up registering it in a different county with no emissions.
