Bumpers, frame, and everything except body are the black Rustoleum Hammered paint. The great thing about that paint is since it's textured already, it's super easy to touch up when it gets scratched!

HAHA, whoops! Just read our State's bumper laws and found out they're supposed to be minimum of 4.5" in height. Guess I'll be figuring that in on the design of the rear bumper with tire carrier Will have to see how many tickets I'll get before I get it built! Currently, my bumpers are too high and too small....

That front bumper is short sweet and to the point. I like it very nice.

Where did you find the bumper laws? I need to replace my rear bumper, and I've been looking everywhere for WA state laws.

Look here: Washington Lift Laws

This site lists all the pertinent information as well as links to the appropriate RCW's and WAC.

You dont really have to worry about the bumper being 4.5 inches tall, unless the fuzz in wenatchee are super anal.

Great looking rig, i sent a picture to my buddy, its exactly what he wants to do to his 88 pickup

Thanks for the compliments. I'm not too worried about the 4.5" rule actually. I'll most likely make the next rear one out of 2"x4" center section and 2" sides, or 2.5" square center section and some 2x4 sides. Still playing with the design, but it'll be much more substantial than the one that's on there now.

On a side note, I took this thing for a little run around the block late last night and she handles pretty good up to 90+mph. Drives straight and has pretty decent power.

Here's a little update on the latest addition. I had this sub laying around and it just makes things sound so much better so I attached it to the tailgate

Finally got it out of the shop yesterday! It drives good, decent power and just needs exhaust now. Had a new windshield put in yesterday and will put the top on tonight so I can drive it some more as it's been raining here off and on and almost got caught out in a T-storm yesterday at the glass shop! Anyway, I've got a few more items to take care of and this thing will be done.....for now

Upcoming plans...........redesign of the rear bumper to include better side protection and a swing out or up tire carrier with a mount to hold my multi mount winch. Not sure if it'll work yet, but am going to give it a shot!

Thanks Chef... I'm sort of excited to build this rear bumper. I've got a number of possibilities rattling around in my head and soon as I have time, I'm going to draw them up in Solidworks or AutoCAD to figure out which one I'm going to build. Who knows, I may just post them up here for input before I start making one.

Well after chatting with some more knowledgeable folks than I.....I've scrapped the idea of putting the winch on the tire carrier and will be making a mount for it inside somewhere. I'll put up some potential designs when I get them drawn up.

New windshield too! I had them remove the factory chrome trim and just use some universal molding that they had....

from what i can see, it looks better that way, as you don't have chrome anywhere else

edit:
that rear bumper looks somewhat, um, inadequate? i know you're building a new one. can't wait to see it

Definitely building another rear bumper that'll be more burly. This one was just thrown together out of material I had on hand. I've since picked up some bigger tubing and will have another one built shortly.

edit.....after seeing my own pics, if this thing doesn't settle a little I may need to run some 37's on it. Anyone else think it looks too tall and out of proportion?

Those are 35's. I think I'm going to work towards gettin a set of 37s and beadlocks for a winter/play tire after I get everything else buttoned up.
