Update:
i've been running 5.29s in it for a a couple weeks now. the speedo is off by about 13% but it has gobs of power. (not as much power as my 5sp behind a 3.4..... but a HUGE improvement over the 4.10s before) sitting on the freeway at 66 (80 indicated) i am turning 2800 RPM with over drive off, kick over drive off and it jumps to 4k and starts pulling away. i pulled apart the front diff to check it out, i was told it was a TruTrac but come to find out its really a lockright
so now my "daily driver" is locked front and rear with 5.29s
i've been too poor to do acutally fill ups so i am not sure what i am getting for mileage. i would venture to guess about 14-16mpg.
I got the arm rest re-done and it looks a billion time better than it did. one of my shop neighbors is an upholstery guy
I also intalled a set of Hella 500s i had laying around my shop.

Still need to:
install HIDs
fix minor electrical issues.
fix/replace the grill
install new shocks
install AAL in the rear (it will require new ubolts so i'll wait and do a ubolt flip kit and relocate the lower shock mounts.)

i got a stock skid plate for the front
still havent fixed the passenger side windows issue...
i installed dual oil filters: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...talled-215913/

i've added trailgear sliders

Tofer -
That is an awesome rig and you can't beat that price! I too have an '89 4Runner, however, mine shows the scars of growing up in the Midwest Winters. I have some pretty extensive rust repair to do on the ol' girl.
So, do you have any suspension plans for this rig? I am looking at installing an aussie locker in mine and swapping out the 4.10s for 4.88s (I have the 22RE w/ 5spd). I have been told by many people out there to lock the rear before doing any other drivetrain/suspension mods. What are your thoughts?
Well, just thought I'd compliment a fellow 1st Gen IFS rig owner on your build-up. Good luck with everything.

Thank you,
This one appears to have lived in the west it's whole life, very small area of rust on the L trim and thats about it.
as far as suspension plans,. i plan on getting a Aussie in the rear and thats about it for now. some day it will be a LT setup with coil overs, but for now its a DD / light duty wheeler for running FS roads.
