Stevenauman's 1991 Pickup Build-Up Thread

Started with a good truck till my son smacked a semi that pulled a left turn right in front of him.I loved the truck so much I new right away we were gonna fix it.The insurance estimate was $4300 damage to the front end.Got a 89 reg cab 4x4 donor truck and started to tear both trucks apart.Ended up replacing the right inner fender, radiator support, hood, and both fenders.Did body work on dings and dents and sanded the whole truck down.Took it in to get some 2 part polyuratheane paint in FJ Voodoo Blue color.Should have it back late this week.I plan to install some carbon fiber tail lights and clear corner lights when I get her back. Then the grill, mudflaps, and rear fender rock guards.I also will roll the bed with rhino or durabak??when I figure out which one is better.I still need a better bumper and can't decide on black or chrome.the donor truck bumper is rusting thru, but I might spray it black and hang it to see how the black would look. The truck has a 3.0/5spd,3"body lift, and 33x12.5 bfgs on 10" rims.I think I'll paint the rims black too,and plan on getting some swamper LTBs and sdori bj spacers/aal for a bit more tire clearance if I ever see a check from the truckers insurance...Here's some pics, forgot to take one before goin to the paint shop.More pics in my photo album MY RIG

Thanks 92 toy.....when my son called and said he was in a wreck, the 1st thing I asked was "Is the truck bad???" oh yea you ok? The truck was super clean underneath(still had the factory numbers stenciled on frame rails and no rust at all!)The paint was toast but the body was straight.Had no choice but to resurect it! Thanks for the encouragment...Ill post pics when I get it back from the paint shop and after I get the trim stuff back on...

Talking update on my truck

got the new wheels and tires on,the SS LTBs were backordered so I went with TSL radials instead. Also got a bumper on and modified and mounted a lower valence.Got a tag and insurance and actually drove it to work tonight. It was well received...everyone has been hearing about the damn truck for a while now.Felt great to cruise down the road, will pop the mud cherry this weekend

Florida law allows 30% on front sides, gangster(limo)tint on rear sides and rear for trucks. Thanks for the complimment,I really went for an original one of a kind look without goin to crazy.Got theA/C blower working with a new blower resistor.Still need to do the axle and diff swap for the front.
