Power steering belt slipping

hello yota tech im currently having some issues with my power steering/ pully and belt...i have a 1994 toyota v6 3.0 Dlx extra cab 4x4 pickup truck... it has 31" bf goodrich all terrians on it so i dont know if thats what caused the power steering to slip. I bought a new belt and its still slipping. want to buy the whole new pump and pulley dont know if i comes as one piece or i have to buy the pump and pulley seperate and press it on. also if there are any other seal or lines i need to buy and what is the best replacement part... aftermarket or factory and what company makes the best pump pulley combo. i am also gonna buy a new belt cause this one is a cheap pos. i have allready tired moving the pump so the belt is tighter and it still slip. Would really just like to get a new pump and pulley...was wondering if its a bolt off bolt on type of thing or if it requires more parts/ labor then that. Please let me know what you guys think and your ideas or if you have even done this job yourself... i plan on doing it myself so all the extra help and what parts to buy is greatly appricated in advance. thanks guys

on my 4cyl my belt was "slipping" because the bearing in the tensioner pulley was siezed. does the 3.0 have a tensioner pulley? take the belt off and see if the pulley gives you any resistance when you try to turn it by hand. the bearing can be pressed out and a new bearing pressed in. the parts store will try to sell you a whole new pulley/bearing assembly but you don't need that. take the bearing to the parts store and read off the small stamped code on the bearing and buy the same one (codes are standard for the size of bearing). still check to make sure the ID and OD are the same. You can pound the old bearing out with a socket and press the new bearing in with the old bearing (so you aren't pounding on the new bearing directly. hope this helps!

edit: i'm way off base on this one. it looks like the 3vze uses the pump itself to put tension on the belt. sorry for the bum answer.

edit 2 (haha): http://web.archive.org/web/200902050...11powerste.pdf Throwing that up, hope it helps. Main manual link: http://web.archive.org/web/200807300...993/index.html

Sounds like you probably just need a new pulley. It's held on by just a nut. It's an EXTREMELY difficult nut to remove though(usually). Can be a MAJOR PITA.

Has nothing to do with your tires.

If no seals/lines are leaking, no seals/lines need fixing. Wouldn't help with the belt slipping anyway. If anything, the more the seals/lines leak, the less the belt will potentially slip.
