ogclew's 1990 Pickup Build-Up Thread

Okay Ive finally have truck home! Its been almost a year since Ive had this truck. I just wanna say " THANKYOU-THOSE THAT HAVE GIVEN ME GREAT ADVICE!' If it wasnt for yotatech I would have probably sold it, due too frustration. With Patience I feel I can do anything now with this truck!
So far Ive done this....
1. Complete tune-up, including fuel filter, 44k fuel cleaner.
2. Grant steering wheel and metal foot pedals.
3. replaced AMF, and Clutch Master/Slave cylinders. Bled it too!
4. Removed OEM stripes, replaced it with TRD decals instead. It looks okay..
5. Installed Marlin Crawler shifter seat bushing...WOW!
6. Tranny fluid, put in Mobil 1 Synthetic 75W gear oil. I Know, I believe REDLINE MT-90 would be better!
7. Battery cables 4 gage

Before...when I first bought it!

and after almost a year, due too lack of funds

MY QUESTION IS, whatis this metal line bracket for? It was hanging off a line under passenger wheel fender? A vaccumline, for some reasons its eating up alot of gas??? I know it could be alot of things??

That looks like your drain pipe for the A/C evaporator.

okay< ill go take it right now, as for the pics...im working on it on photbucket? If it that a/c pipe, would cause the check engine light to come on? I think its the o2 sensor, while the truck was running/no driving. The gas meter was slowly going down, in front of my eyes. I was damn! , it eats gas! It was not leaking gas, I checked it.

That almost looks like a coolant line. I don't have a truck, so I'm not sure.

its not the o2 senser either, o2 senser is a electrical componet, not a tube

Kewl deal...thanks!....ill ck it.. I am happy with this truck currently it needs

1. That line to be put back
2. Horn has never worked
3. Speedometer cable or sensor not working
4. bad gas mileage...o2 sensor needs to be replaced.
5. Tires, OEM shocks,transfer-case oil, replaced..
6.....................whatever comes up!

Basically I need to reAD MORE ABOUT THIS TRUCK.
....STILL NEED TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO PERFORM "CODES-FUNCTION'"

when fixing the horn, remember that toyotas use a different type of horn the ground is switched instead of the positive, so a ford horn wont work, i tryed...

was that what the hose was for?

Your fuel gauge literally drops while you have it running? The passenger side fire wall is where the fuel line in and pressure regulator return line is.

Why would an A/C evap drain from under the glove box end up hanging from the passenger side fender well?

Does the O2 sensor cause bad fuel mileage?

Replace the bulb on both sides. That way they sould last about the same length of time. Make sure the socket is grounded well there too. That will cause light failure.

OK thanks, , and NO the fuel gauge does not drop that much. I figured Im getting bad mileage because of numerous things, tires are deflating, diff oil needs to be changed, and bc its a 3.0.

The metal hose was hanging off a line under passenger wheel fender,I believe it was a was a windshield wiper line. Still Fixing that

How do you get the bulb out? With out breaking the light? It looks like there are clips,
