My New Project, could really use some advice!
So I have wanted an early 90's Yota for quite some time now! Finally made it happen. Instead of getting one someone has built up themselves, I am going to slowly get the work done myself, mostly through shops. I can do some of the little things myself, but being a full time student it is hard to get the time and it needs to be a daily driver. Not to mention the biggest job I have done to date by myself is wheel bearings.
My tentative plan for it is a 4 inch lift and 33's this summer. Next summer is the 3.4 swap and new tranny. summer after that make her look real pretty with some new paint etc and probably get the whole driveline redone.. After that if I really feel like it i'll go for the SAS.
Well for now my big question is with the lift!
There are only really a few options I have ran into. Rough Country, Superlift, Pro Comp, Skyjacker, and one called Tuff Country.
I don't want to spend a crap ton on it, but I also don't want to go the cheap route and being fixing things in a year or so.
So the Rough Country I hear bad things about, and I hear great things about Skyjacker, but their price is also 3-4x greater. I am thinking about going the middle road with the pro comp stage two, not sure on the mx-6 or the es3000.
I have attached some pictures of my find! It has been jimmy rigged and I don't know a lot about it's history, but like I said it's going to be over the next couple years completely redone! Odometer is only at 160k.
