Dont have any finished pics, i didnt have any help working on it so i forgot pics. I took some 16 gauge(i think) sheet steel and cut out an area a little bigger than the hole, attached the sheet metal with the hinge mounting screws then hammered the sides to contour to the sides of body. Then just welded around and painted it.

Yeah, that's a tough one, right? If you're talking about the antenna; Can't fasten it to the bumper somehow?

If you mean the 'CB Mounting bracket'? Not sure on that one.. Where's it going in? Under the Stereo?

No the antenna, the radio will be mounted in the cubby under the other radio. I dont have a rear bumper, just a hitch. I guess i could do it it the front somehow..hmmm any ideas? I was gunna do a mount that attached in the back next to the tailgate.

Hmmmm.. Well, not sure... Couldn't you temporarily mount it to the hitch with a bracket extension or piece of flatbar ? Or maybe to the tab that comes down by the bumper that the long trim pieces mount to? I just hate for you to get into the body if it's not needed... But if the bumper you plan on putting on wont interfere with where you're putting it/and you seal it up really well, then maybe mount it later to the bumper? Ugh... just hate you to go into the body if it's not your plan, ya know? Mine from the PO was on the roof, behind the moon roof... ... never understood that, other than BEST RECEPTION POSSIBLE? meh... Anyway, I guess he could pull it down and strap it to the pillar or something? Yeah, never figured it out, as I said, and it was broke off when I got to it... WONDER WHY, EH? lol. "Hey guys, my antenna is 14feet in the air... check it out, it's ......... 'SNAP', .....oh forget it", HAHAHA.

heres my new plan: attach it for now to the frame area and have it come out the side or mount it on an empt light tab i have up front...temporarily. But once my bumper is built, ill weld on a little bracket either in the back or on the side, depending on the reception.

CB Help!

Ok so i was hooking up my cb, and i got it all done and wired but i go to talk to some truckers, and the channel led thing isnt coming up? So i have three wires, red, black and orange. Red is power black ground, and orange is supposed to be the channel memory. If i didnt hook up the memory wire(orange) could that cause the selector led to not light up? I went to the weather channels and i get that so it does work. When i go through the channels, i hear absolutley nothing
! Any help would be appreciated guys, thanks in advance!

well as usual i was right it was that one orange wire, i didnt hook up! But today i found more rust -_- so ill be cutting away some fenders and welding new metal in soon, so stay tuned! My snorkel idea has pretty much bust, i have all the parts for the most part minus the exhaust pipe, but i cant find anyone around town that has a mendrel bender thats willing to bend my tubing for me
So ill turn my attention now to redoing that stupid can i put on earlier in a squeeze, and then ugh rust repair.

Nothing much to report on the runner, been cleaning alot, painted some interior stuff, made a skid plate upfront which later got a risinig sun on it for some reason, and done some routine maintenance. Im trying to clean this beast up, and redo everything that isnt up to my standards, i really want an fj-60/62 so im trying to get mine in the condition to sell. Anyone have some input on those fj's? Ive done some reading on ih8mud and pirate, but honestly i just hate those sites, for some reason they never help me. I think i want a 60 because its a manual, only downside i see is the carb but i drove our cj7 for about two months everyday with a carb and its not that bad.

New exhaust...again

Ok well here's my final try on exhaust on this truck, i ditched that fart can that i needed in a squeeze, for a summit racing street and strip muffler (flowmaster 40). So my current setup is; Half cored cat with flowmaster 40, all with 2.25 in pipe from the cat back. I dont know if im extremely happy with the sound, its quiter at idle than the can, and not as deep. I have almost this exact setup on my taco (full cat, and 2.5in pipe) and it sounds much better. But i like how this looks better. I will post pics and a vid soon.
