monst3rd0's 1991 Pickup RC/SB Build-Up Thread
Aloha, If ya tuned in to my resurrecting the 91 v6 ya better check this one out!!
First off, I am trying my best to Budget Build and not get crazy.
I bought a 1987 Toyota Pickup Reg Cab/Short Bed for $250. It had the old faithful 22r with the weber header package and a heap of rust!! Well it being an Island truck used for the Beach/Hunting and a bit of torture by more than a few owners I drove it home with the title in hand.
Did myself good and sold the rims and tires for $300. The engine was running but leaking oil like it was on its period and hadn't had much attention so I gave it to a local guy for $150 with his intentions on rebuilding the Old Faithful 22r. I made more than a few bucks and Here Is where its at Today.

Passenger Side Of cab Was Completely rotted through and was resting on the frame. Bed bolts was rusted to the frame and Front end Was re constructed multiple times. The dump was the next stop.

Torching off the old fabricated bumpers and inspecting frame.
If ya happened to stop by, Id really appreciate some tunes and please chime in when you can if possible.
I had some time this morning to at least torch these off!
I feel I need to put more time into inspecting the frame and when I get some help this afternoon to roll my frame into some cover Ill go ahead and spend at least 10 minutes inspecting every aspect of the frame.
I found a crack while snapping some pics where I think is a clear "Hint" in the right direction. I am a rookie to this upgrade and if anyone can give me some pointers and what i SHOULD NOT DO. And of course WHAT I SHOULD DO.
Ill get the pics up when I can this afternoon.

Pictures from earlier this morning.
Don't Hate on this guys Fab work:wabbit2:

Well, i got some thinking to do. And Some Fab work ahead of me.

I don't know what light bulb flickered on with the PO. But i couldnt wrap my head around this rear bumper. I dont think that carriage bolt should be used to bolt the bumper to the frame. Unless it was designed to not unbolt like the front bumper lol. I had to put my flame to it after fighting with it.

I'm going to get the frame sandblasted and of course I'll coat it afterwards with some POR 15.
If ya read earlier about me inspecting the frame and finding a crack well here are the pics.

IFS BOX relocation was a thought on this build. After seeing the crack i have 2 options. Move it or weld it solid. Any advice?
