Here is a sneak peak of the new paint. I am going to wet sand and spray another coat or two. There where a few small dents that I didn't see when it was primer but since this is a 25 year old truck I'm playing them off as character.

I also picked up two more play toys! A 1986 ext cab and a 1985 single cab, the 85 will be a parts truck.

Guna liked the seat covers

2 of my pups

It ended up being a nice day so we took the rest of the day to go flying

I will post more pics of the paint after I get her back together. I am going to get a new windshield put in with the rubber trim instead of the chrome rust stuff. Will post how that turns out too.

Starting to put the 4Runner back together, I think the paint looks pretty good!

There is a ton of metallic glitter in the paint too.

This is a single stage paint, I still need to buff/polish/wax.

Got a little more done this weekend. I got the front window installled with a rubber gasket, overall I think it looks good. There is a small gap at the top corners that was just filled in with the window epoxy.

I also got the bumpers and sliders painted.

I just ordered new weatherstripping along with the window runs as well as the transmission rebuild kit and a new clutch/flywheel. I also plan on pulling the oil pan and taking out the gasket and putting in silicone.

Getting started on the transmission rebuild.

All of the gears look fine and there is no metal shavings inside so the bearings must be worn. Nothing obvious though... The transmission would make a loud roaring/grinding type noise in fifth gear during a coast. The front seal was definately shot though, it's hardened and was leaking fluid which wasted the clutch...

Got her back together!

Finally got an antique tag! Never have to buy another one!

When I rebuilt the transmission, I replaced the clutch/flywheel and the rear main seal and even removed the oil pan to redo the gasket. The thing is still leaking oil... This is getting old...

Thanks, not sure about the pics though. They work on all the computers that I've tried. I think there are just so many that the page might bog down some peoples' connection, try hitting refresh (F5) If anyone else is having issues let me know and I'll remove some of the less important pics and see if that helps.

Thanks, I love these style of trucks. After I had a few I was able to figure out exactly what I wanted them to look like.

3rz swap

Been a few years but the 4runner is getting a 3rz. Just picked up a rolled tacoma that had a reman engine installed about 2k miles ago. Still has a warranty even and I have all the paperwork!

the 22re still runs great but I want more power.

Got both motors pulled. My goal is to get the motor mounts fabbed up and have the 3rz bolted in this weekend.

Got the motor mounts modified and welded in. Still have a lot to do but at least the engine is mounted now!
