Mdumaw's 87 4Runner Build up thread

So I've been around here for a while and just kind of watch everyone else's builds, so I figured Id throw some of my crap up, To start off I got my 4runner with 221k (sr5 all the goodies)back in June of 2012, paid 1500 knowing clutch was out and tranny was on its way. Tranny wouldn't stay in 1st and would grind going into all other gears, so I put in a clutch, dumped the old tranny fluid threw some redline mt-90 gl-4 in the trans and tcase after driving a short while she seemed to shift fine (still didn't stay in first) figured I could live with it.

When I got it

I didn't really do much to it for the first year, Cleaned the heck out of it, clutch, fluid, tune up (timing was set at like 5* after SLUGGISH),
Got rid of ALL emissions related anything, New wheels and some 31" treadwrights

Now after I got back to the good ol' Pnw I got to play with it a little Started off with a fresh rattle can OD green/black bedliner paint job:

Then after it wouldn't get to the places I wanted to go I decided to weld the rear end, and oh boy did it get fun.
After wheeling it a while I got bored with the standard run of the mill 4runner, so I made me some half doors

(my buddy ryan, awesome help with everything ive done on the rig so far
and he can weld a wee bit better than I)

Got the half doors done perfectly in time for winter Oh yeah.
So I made some snap on soft sides which helped a little bit.

And with the half doors came the half top

I rocked the half doors and half top for a while one day got to lookin at it and figured it looked a little long (plus I kept smacking my back end on stuff.

11's a good number

(played around with a new paintjob idea)

All finished up (ill get more ass pics)

And I rocked this for a while until my tranny finally gave out 1st 3rd and 4th, only 30,000 miles after I bought it, so I let it sit and drove my other truck for a few months just wheeling on the occasion with the very tempermental first gear, 2nd and 5th.

And on one wheeling trip I kinda hurt the motor just a little bit. ran it out of oil in a unfriendly fashon, but I threw some oil in it and made it home
Luckily I happened to have another engine and tranny, so I got her running again

After a few months I wanted to hack some more so I Toyed with the idea of boatsides, nobody really does it on yotas, I understand why but didn't want to go the slider route figured be different.
so yesterday I pulled her in the shop stripped the interior and this happened

Well I made a little progress, boat sides are done, couple shots with a temporary skid plate, im gonna run a skid that reaches clear to the ends, but that's all the scrap I had.

And because I made the poor decision to be lazy and not take everything out of the danger areas I did this

Yeah i'm wanting to test them out, but I gotta get new dash harness first I had another partial one around and I spliced it together enough to start it so I can run it in and out of the shop, but nothing else works.
It'll be another three weeks or so before I do to much to it as i'm headed to north Dakota.
