This project started with a 1987 Toyota 4x4 regular cab pickup that i bought for $100.The truck was complete and running but the windshield was broke,the 5 speed tranny was blown to pieces,the frame had a couple soft spots.Someone tried to fix a blown headgasket with a stop leak.So i pulled the motor and tore it down and rebuilt it.It was a 22R carbed..That was a couple years ago.I sold the bed off the truck for $225.I then attacked the the soft spots in the rear frame.I believe in doing things right so i got out the sawzall and cut off the frame behind the cab.I then fabricated a new rear frame section.Which brings us to today.I have started to graft the new rear section to the existing frame using fishplates.New frame will be much stronger then original.It has the same shape and contours of the original.More to come soon just need to figure out how to post pics.Stay tuned and please be patient.
