Ifs Monster Build

I love the mud too just means you'll be washing it out from underneath for at least a month after. Where can I get low profile bumpstops? Im afraid that even after I adjust the torsion bars a bit I still won't have enough up travel for a smooth ride. Also, sorry the build thread is slow but as a high school senior with a part time job I basically do a mod or two with each paycheck so progress will be slow but steady.

Also, anyone with a 3.0 have any advice for exhaust? Im getting my friend to weld on a new muffler and a Walker direct fit tailpipe this week but I'm stuck between flowmaster super 44 and dynomax ultra flow! They are about the same price and im sure both flow pretty well so sound is my #1 priority but I couldn't find any more than 1 3vze dynomax sound clip on youtube......HELP!!

check this thread for low profile bumpstops: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f129...mpstops-75740/ these seem to be the most popular types and what you're looking for.
As far as exhaust, Im replacing my old rust can with this for the price and reviews. I'll take some audio once I get it in there.

you can buy the low-profile bumps from any place that sells suspension/body bushings - they are universal, so just find the size you want and search for your vendor or look locally.
if you literally search "low profile bump stops" on google you will find numerous places to buy them...and they will all ship to your house.
personally, i wouldn't even waste my time with low profile bumps until i had a few other things in place on the rig, and had plenty of behind the wheel time to determine whether or not they are even needed for the style of driving i'd be doing.
just remember this....it's not all about travel/extreme articulation, it's all about TRACTION. ex: an IFS rig with locked diffs and 29" tires will likely make it further into a difficult trail (or mud pit in your case) vs the SAS rig with open diffs, stock gears and 35s.
from reading through your thread, my advice is to simply get more behind the wheel experience before tossing money on upgrades at this point. find the weaknesses for what you're doing with the rig and then go from there. if you want to spend money, focus on filling the tank with gas and addressing preventative maintenance items so your rig can get you to/from the trails....or maybe go buy yourself some good recovery equipment like tow straps, shackles, f/r recovery points, come a long, a good jack, tools for your rig, spare parts, etc etc....all stuff that everyone should have well before they have something like blinging stereo system or custom exhaust, etc.
good luck!

Sorry its been so long but as graduation is getting closer things have gotten hectic again. Many of my truck mods will happen this summer but I did just have the chance to take a little road trip and pick up some sr5 bucket seats and a functional cup holder for 85 bucks. Unfortunately on the way home I got a flat tire and left my spare and 4-way at home so my next project will definitely be a road emergency kit. Pictures coming soon.

on the plus side, you'll likely never drive a vehicle without them ever again

Yes, you hit the nail on the head! Seems like I am always learning things the hard way haha. Funny thing is we swung by the Harbor Freight store in Richmond before we headed home but all I bought was a tow strap and some socket rails. If only I could've seen into the future!

Glad to see another IFS guy....keep IFS alive..be unique!
Takes a little more wheel time to learn how/what the ifs wants to do and how to navigate obstacles but is still a blast.
Heres my 86 xcab IFS on 35s. Hopefully will be geting a long travel kit.

Welp, not the happiest with this decision but over the course of the last couple years I sold my baby and bought (please don't kill me) a FORD! Right? Long story short, I've had the truck for probably not even 3 months and have already lost a wheel on one trip and a tailpipe on another trip. Needless to say, driving a full-size is overrated and I will likely never buy a ford again. Through it all, my '01 Camry has been my reliable daily and the every day reminder that I should've never shied away from Toyota. I'd like to think I'm getting wiser in my old age (20 is old to me) so I've decided to sell the ford before anything else goes wrong, drive the Camry in the meantime, and twiddle my thumbs until my dad decides to sell me his '93. Cleanest 3rd gen I've ever seen. Honestly! I promise I'll get some pics soon. I'm in no rush to mod this thing out like I probably would've been 2 or 3 years ago but at some point I'd like to add a complete OME suspension kit and some armor. Really wanna keep it tasteful and capable of 200-300 mile road trips but at the same time capable of getting a little flexy every now and then. It's gonna be a slow process but I'm hoping some of you guys can sway me into keeping it as stock as possible and maybe some cool ideas for daily driver mods. Cheers
