I should be fine...I switched the WHOLE rocker assembly and cam. Both came from same motor...so they are broke in together.

ah good deal, two of those rockers looked kinda like they were over heated, but maybe that's just some carbon build up from old oil.

BTW, it looks like you got something on your camera lens. Better go clean it off. hahaha

Read a few posts up silly......sorry I couldn't find my flare tools. I looked everywhere. I hate not being able to find a tool. I generally know where every single one is.

Thanks toyospearo.

I cant wait to tear into it tomorrow and get her running.

OK....all tore down and ready to go back together.
Scraping the timing cover gaskets kinda sucked.
Hardest part so far...lol

That timing cover was a little more wore than I thought....I bet it was pretty close to wearing through to the coolant passage.

I am FILTHY. Thats one dirty little engine.

Taking a break...Ill snap a few pics before I go back at it....I wanted to take more pictures....but the drive to get it done is kinda exceeding that desire.

Did I mention I am FILTHY.

I miss modding brand new cars....lol

No real suprises though.

Filthy...one more time.

ok taking another break and chugging a rockstar.

Timing set up installed.
Waterpump installed ( engnbldr waterpump studs are a little too short. barley worked.)
Oil pump installed.
timing cover on

Working on a/c and the rest of the accessories, etc.

Yes..still filthy. Oh...and amongst the fury of activity....found my flare tools....sorry mighty mouse...day late and a dollar short.

Ill load the pics up when Im done or I quit for the evening.

From: Bryan Tx,
If you would quit taking so many breaks you would be done already.

BTW, I think I read on somebody elses thread they had the same problem with the water pump studs being short for the timing cover...... IIRC you reuse your old ones to the t-cover & the new ones are for the water pump to fan. I could be wrong.

Ok, last break. I have to adjust valves....put in some water...and some oil. Then fire her up and check the timing.

once you start it just be prepared for it to run a little wired and hiccup a little, all it is is the coolant bubble freaking out the coolant temp sensor. Make sure you start it without the rad cap on, it may or may not spit some out at you though.

no...you are right Rob...had to re-use mine and use the studs for the fan.

holy cow man....i'm excited for ya.

yes...get ready for it to lope a bit while the bubbles work through the cooling system

Well...after I sat down....I realized Im exhausted.
Shouldn't of stopped. I'll wrap it up in the morning.

I'll make sure to burp her. I know a trick for that.

I'll be happy when it doesnt sound like a machine gun from those rockers beating the cam to death.

Im covered with wounds, and tired as hell.

Ill go get some oil, filter, and some coolant in the morning.

Good news is....I matched up the piece of drivers side guide I fished out a couple weeks ago with what was left bolted and there should be little to nothing in the pan.
