So did ya get her painted up? I wanted to see the after picts.
Yea I like the part about gloss on gloss is bad, its true , you wouldn't think its right, but it is . Yea sand down between coats, remove dust (air, thinner rag ) sand with higher number grit sandpaper as the coats go on. Should end up with a pretty fancy hilbill paint job. I do it all the time . I'm doing it to my 4runner right now on the rear hatch/glass area. I can't post picts or I would?

Oh yea if its already primed, fill the imperfections with bondo or some auto filler, when you buy it ask about sanding it, some stuff is hard to sand. Unless you have an assortment of power/air sanding equipment, then no worries. Float it out with filler , when dry , sand it smooth ,clean it up, spot prime the bondo areas, when dry, sand entire hood, clean dust off, and re prime the entire area.
If you really want to get all the imperfections out, when applying the filler, try to find a darker area in the garage, and use a movable light (yellowish light seems to work better than white imo ) to move around the area and it will show all the areas that need filled, just look at it from different angles while moving the light around. Its a trick we use when painting new houses.

Man sorry to hear, that sounds like no fun at all... at least its not the middle of summer, right. I saw a thread about this roll on paint for cars, it was really intersting. Made by a company started with a z , I couldn't believe the results. Might be worth looking into. Get better and post up some picts when you can.
