Just downloaded a photobucket app on my phone so I am able to upload pics pretty quick and easy.

Heres some pics of when I was doing my manual hub swap

My MT-90 that I bought for my tranny. Shifts smooth as butter now

A pic I took at the store a couple days after a wash

Decided to paint my chrome wheel trim pieces black. They turned out pretty well and look WAY better than before. I plan on slowly painting over the chrome since it doesnt look to well.

So last week I installed my Cobra 19 DX IV CB and 4ft firestik. I mounted the CB where the ash tray use to be and fits perfectly. I havent taken any pics of the yet but ill probably post some up after a while.

A couple weeks ago I also picked up a set of 15X8 rims that are in pretty good condition just need some new paint. Figured a couple hours of work and theyll be as good as new. Definitely worth the $30 I paid for them.

Then yesterday while I was at the wrecking yard picking up a couple random parts I spotted some almost new 33x12.50x15 BFG mud terrains. There was only 2 but I ended up getting both of them for $170. They got probably 90%-95% tread left. I always see people selling there brand new spare tires on Craigslist. I figured if I could find another 2 tires ill have a set of almost new tires for around $400.

Im probably gonna be painting my rims this week then hopefully find another 2 tires within few weeks so I can get them mounted.

Drmix, did you tune the antenna via an SWR meter. I have that cb and a 6 foot firestick and i understand if you do not tune the antenna you could damage the cb?
Thanks.

Havent done much to my truck for a while just routine maintenance.

I did get my windows tinted a few weeks ago and it looks alot better. I got 20% all around with 5% on the moonroof which is about perfect for me. The back windows are super dark since they already had the factory tint in the glass. Ill have to post pics a little later.

Once I move and get a house expect more updates. There is no room for major projects when you live in a apartment with no garage. If everything goes good we should be in a house by the first part of next year.

Updated my info on the first post.

This weekend I built a new wiring harness using 12 gauge wire to prepare for my H4 conversion. I installed my harness this morning and noticed the headlights were only slightly brighter. I was hoping for better results but I dont think my wiring was too bad to begin with. Oh well the main reason I did it was to prepare for the H4s.

The H4 conversion should be coming in within the next couple of days so I expect to get much better results with those. For now I am going to be running the bulbs that are included with the housing until I figure out exactly which bulbs I want to run.

So I decided to go with the Hella 100/80W H4 bulbs. Ive been running them for a couple months now and they are amazing! They produce a nice white light and are bright enough to meet my needs yet not so bright that I am blinding people. If you are trying to decide on a good H4 bulb to go with I definitely recommend the Hella 100/80W!

This week I have been having issues with my truck. Last week one of my Ujoints started to go out. I had really bad vibrations when driving over 35 mph which was definitely a problem.

Fixed that issue, then yesterday it was a nice day outside so I decided that I would finally change the oil in her. Got ready to go pick up some supplies, started her up then went to check the coolant and a couple other things when all of a sudden it just died. Figured that was weird so I went to start it back up and it wouldnt start. After a while on YotaTech and trying different things it turned out that the igniter/coil went out. After I replaced it everything was good.

So after spending time under the hood looking at all of the skimpy corroded grounds I decided it was time to upgrade them. Bought some 4 gauge wire (the biggest Oreillys had) and some ends and went to work. I replaced the main alternator connection and all the grounds I could find.
  • Alternator positive to battery positive
  • Battery ground to body
  • Head to body
  • Block to body

I did notice that the engine seems to function smoother also that everything electrical seems to work better. Definitely worth it.

Next on my list is replacing all the vacuum hoses. All of them are very soft and some of them pull off very easily. I am sure that there are a few small vacuum leaks hidden in all those lines. If anyone knows what size of vacuum lines I need to buy let me know
