I guess I should end this build thread here.

This truck had around 155,000 miles on it, still had many more miles to go. It was a great truck that never let me down, literally, in good times and bad.

This truck had such a great impact on my life, I don't know where I would be right now if it wasn't my first truck.

Wherever it is now, R.I.P....

Well, I'll be driving a Honda CR-V that my mom is letting me drive. She put full coverage on it and put my name in the insurance only. A couple years from now, she wants to put the car in my name. It's a nice car for what it is with only ~74,000 miles on it, it's not a pickup truck, but it's better than nothing for now.

Since I won't be paying insurance for a while, I'll be trying to save up for another Toyota Pickup, maybe a cheap one that needs a little work. Maybe even a Tacoma with a 3.4. But it'll be a long while, before anything like that happens.

I would like a TRD package Tacoma. The only thing that drives me away is that almost every Tacoma I have seen has Leaf springs that have a negative arc. I haven't read what the deal is with that though.

so put a deaver 10 leaf pack in it... lol

edit: to answer your question as to why its like that. 2-3 leaf packs with a small overload spring. add the heavier weight of the tacoma vs the pick up, and the close leaf mounts, you'll get your answer

Oh okay, that's really weird that they turn out that way, especially when you watch the leafs bend. Anyways, yeah my eyes are set on the Tacoma.

yeah the chevy 63s are still a popular swap in tacomas. but Deavers are a bolt on but cost 800 bucks. then again, the chevies will cost you that much too if you cant weld. so its preference

Wow, that's a lot, but at least there are options out there, I would love a long travel Tacoma. Except the next one I mod, will probably be a total sleeper, just so it doesn't attract attention.

There may be an update on my truck.

On Feb. 8th, my friend called me at around 3:43pm today swearin he'd seen my truck goin down esplanade in Chico. Everything looks about the same, but it has a black tailgate on it now. According to him he was almost 100% sure it was my baby, and called the cops on it.

He said it took a right off esplanade into cohasset. So I searched around that area after work, but no luck for me.

Like I said, just an update. I'm pretty sure the cops would've called me by now if they seen it. My buddy was walking so he couldn't go after it, and I don't believe he'd call the police for just anything, so this could be serious.

Sorry blazen8, I never did see your post til just now. I was goin through this thread for old times sake. But no, nothing did ever turn up. Everyday, I wear the old key to it as a necklace, maybe some day it'll turn up, and I'll rip it off my neck and put the key in. That's what I like to think anyways, but the only thing I can do now is keep on keeping on til the end.
