Climate control LED replacement

Climate control LED replacement
Hi all,
I can't seem to find anywhere how to replace these back lit LEDs for the climate control behind these plastic reflector things circled. Seems like you have to take out the whole climate control unit but there has to be an easier way. I'm also nervous to take out the trim panel holding the cupholders for fear of breaking it. Is there an easy way to do this?
thanks!

Nope. I have the 95 4Runner dash swapped into my 94 truck. Hot/cold is a cable that manually moves the flapper. Fan speed is a variable resistor slider. I’ll provide a picture tomorrow. The surf is a more modern climate control it looks like.
