CV Joint Boots.

Installed new CV Joint boot covers on the front drivers side because they ripped. Pain in the ass. Ended up having to undo the top ball joint to drop the spindle further away from the car so I could pull out the axle. Didn't quite drop down like the manual said it should, kept hitting the lower A arm. The 6 bolts to bolt the CV joint to the front diff axle were also all messed up so I put new ones of those in.

nice job man. but for future reference. You can get 40 dollar CV joints off Rockauto.com. and its much easier just to swap the whole joint itself.

Boot Kit with inner and outer boot with grease for both was $50 and they had it for me the next day in the morning. I never trust aftermarket stuff either but i'm sure it would have been easier.

That's why I went with the dealer. 1 day instead of 1 week. Price wasn't crazy high either. Happy it's done with a week to spare. I didn't want to be rushing to get it done the day before the trip or something.

Were there already 24 other Chrismcdowell's? lol just playing. Wondering a few things: How are you liking the OME kit? Could you describe ride quality compared to factory? I bought the kit and haven't had a chance to try them out because my truck is still at the frame status, so I'm kinda curious to hear a review from someone who's experienced what I've paid for, if you know what I mean. Also can you take a pick of your shackle angle on your rear leafs? My rear shackle angle looks crazy without a body on it, and I'm wondering what it becomes with real truck weight on top. Cheers!

Hey, Sorry for the very very late reply. I have been real busy with other things and haven't gotten back to yotatech. I hope this info is still relevant to you. The springs ride a bit rougher and harder than the originals but the originals that I had were very warn out and would hit the bump stops while going over bumps on the freeway. When the truck is fully loaded it rides much smoother and doesn't really sag very much under the weight. I think with a heavy bumper and winch up front you'd be very happy with the ride. They have the extra leaf if you want to carry more weight but I have been happy without it. My shackles sit fairly normal. I got the OME shackles springs shocks and bolts. Pretty much the whole kit. Up front I did the torsion bars and shocks. I'd buy them again. I am really happy with them. Sorry again for the late reply. I got my stuff from here...

My torsion bars were on order for about 2-3 months I think. They shipped them by boat from Australia. I got the greasable shackles from them.
