Chefyota4x4's Ruby R3dRuM to "Suzy-Q the Silverback" Body Swap Thread!
#303
Hey chef, its been a while. Sorry about ruby but your new silver rig looks great. I am in the middle of my SAS on my rig. I did a write up in the axle swap section. Are you planning a motor swap? I want to do the om617 TD. Could have got one last weekend at pick n pull but didn't have time. It was 1/2 price day too. Ohh well there will be another some day.

Thanks, and it was!
I thought it was pretty fun. But there is way cool spots out there and Parker, phenomenal wheeling actually. This was just a bit of fun for the day you know? And you can always wheel and jetski in the same day!
Thanks buddy!
Right on, hope you're well, hombre! Sounds like you've done you're research, regarding the motor swap.... Seems to be a straight forward swap... I'm getting close to making my decision, but the motor I built is running so well, I'm content to tale my time, even if I collect everything. Seeing Ian tossing a 3.4 in his 22re-c - rig ...., well, it has me throwing that in the mix of the 3 choices I'm spying out! Lol....
Thanks for that, it sucked, but I got right over it, what else could I do?
Thanks buddy!

Been checking in on you see how things are going. Just haven't posted. Hope all is going well.
My grandmother had a Buick Electra 225,( 197? model) those were some boat sized cars back then. The 455 was a little power house. I miss the '74 and older cars.

.... Yeah, old Susie Q the Silverback did pretty well. I've been getting some ideas on sometimes I'm going to change. Possibly going to get her down a little bit in the front.. I don't wanna do a no-lift belly skidder..., but I want to maximize the performance on the odd and flop happy terrain! LolDude--talk about some memories 1970 Buick Riviera. My grandmother had one with the 455.5 in it. It had 19K on the clock when she passed away in 1983.
Backed the sucker up to the wall of the parking garage in her condos when I was 12 and put it in reverse and smoked the tires for a loooooong time..
Thanks!

What am i underneath?.....

My daughters new to her 2002 civic with all new top end and time and kiss and radiator. I picked it up for her last week! Its a5 speed civic with between 33 and 38 miles a gallon!

I hit 1000 followers on Instagram. Hahahahaha. I never even join that thing taking it seriously. But my kids, just like with Facebook, insisted that I joined. Along with a couple of guys on here. Cody I believe, and Nick! Lol... I love it. Very simple and hit and run. I wish that allowed longer videos but I guess that's probably best so that I can not spend so much time updating and so forth, especially when I don't have that time at the moment....

I promise I will be back and update with some relief cool stuff. I am going to do a meet up post because we are going to bullfrog Trail near King of the hammers. we are meeting here at around 9 a.m. On Sunday morning, June 8th 2014.....

Nice looking Civic you got. Great little cars as well. I do good keeping up with one site. I dont see how others can keep up with several sites at the same time. I do like the short videos as it does show so much more then just a picture.

6-8-14 MEET/ "Bullfrog", Johnson Valley/76 Station Start point-->
Socal854runner, myself and a few others are meeting up at the following location and then heading on to Bullfrog Trail in Johnson Valley. It is quite a bit closer than Hammers, for me anyway....
This is the gas station we are meeting at...

76
http://goo.gl/maps/ytO1r
From there it is not too far to where we are going, which is basically a couple miles from "Cougar Buttes" .....

Cougar Buttes
http://goo.gl/maps/SaF6j
Everyone is welcomed with pretty much any vehicle, but obviously there are several hills that are mostly rock formation which some will not be able to get up. However, there are several lines people can take, and it's not very difficult at all to hike up by foot and watch some of the activities on the nastier stuff....
Go ahead and post up if you'd like to join us....

Woeeeeee! Lol.....

As some of you might know, my buddy are was down from Oregon for his mother's funeral. He's in the white shirt....

Before leaving, in fact the day before, my alternator began to fail. It would at times charge well, and others not at all.... So I finally decided to break out the 130 amp ace alternators upgrade and wire it in. I will explain more later as to what I did, but I went from the top posts: large white wire directly to the battery and wrapped up the original one... Around 12 inches before the battery I installed a 150 amp buss breaker.... Long story short, the alternator kick ass and does its job well when high amp draw items like the compressor are on, etc. For instance, when I put all of my off road lights on, the idle barely drops as compared to before when it would drop up to 150 rpm...

Hey chef! The swap turned out great brother. Glad to see you are out on the trails again! I was wanting to start a discussion on your rollover and what you learned from it and what advice you and the other guys here can share. As I put more and more money into my truck rolling it is my number one worry. Especially since I haven't saved up the money yet to exo it (the 3rz swap drained my bank account and then some). I'd also love to hear from you guys on whether or not you have found a insurance company that is willing to provide a policy on "agreed value".

. Beautiful flexy shots too!
