It's been a year since you posted on 11/25/2010 about the tranny going out, what did you end up doing? Rebuild or new one from MC? Nice Zuk mod too :}

If you went with MC, how's it doing?

Yeah, not really good about posting regularly. I almost bought a Marlin Crawler but money was too tight so I found a used factory trans at the local u-pull-it junkyard for 90 bucks. If this one goes I'll probably go with Marlin. This project is really slow moving as it's my daily driver. My main goal is just to make it run forever at this point. Not going crazy with any mods, just really like the truck and want to keep it going as long as I can.

New sneakers came in today. I'm pretty pumped. Tried to order TSL 31/9.5/15 radials. No dice on those till February. Ended up going with a 235/85/16 procomp radial and bought some 16X7 procomp wheels. Granted, the TSL's look way more badass and would be better for offroading, but in reality, this truck is my daily driver and comfort is an important issue. Think the truck is looking pretty good right now. On to the electrical issues...

They weren't joking when they said to use gloves. lol

Couple small holes in the bed I'm not gonna worry about. Hopefully put bedliner on in a day or two.

This is really the only bad spot. I'm not a metal worker so fiberglass might be the only option. Not the best option, but it is what it is.

While I have it in the shop I'm debating a lift. Turns out the new tires rub a bit when flexing. I just had the front end rebuilt so a suspension lift is out of the question. I think I could handle a 1 inch body lift but I haven't found any kits for it. Smallest one I could find was a 2 inch. Just kinda turning this over in my head a bit. It's not like I really do much wheeling but I like to have the option if ya know what I mean. I also need to do the shocks soon, is there any chance some stiffer shocks might solve my rubbing issue?

Got some more work done this week. I've decided to go against the body lift but I did order new shocks as mine were shot. Probably won't solve the rubbing problem but I'm hoping that it will allow me to do light duty wheeling without rubbing. We'll see. Procomp MX-6's should be arriving next week. Got most of the interior panels cut and mocked up. Only piece left to make is the ones for the back of the rear seats. This was my first ever effort working with steel so go easy on me. 16 gauge is hard to cut with a jigsaw. Here's a few pics.

SR5 seats were ten bucks a piece at the local upullit. They don't match the dash but are so comfortable that I don't care. Still hmming and hawing on the rocker panel. Found the Wolf Steel website today but after searching them on hear I won't be going that route. Hopefully a buddy of mine can find a rocker for me down south as there are none in my area without rust. We'll see.

Don't think I'll be changing my mind on the seats. lol Took a little vid the other day for sh##s and giggles. I was pretty pumped to get it working and have the switch installed safely under the driver's seat. Radio was just an oddly timed switchover from undertow to 4degrees, odd that it hit right then. See if I can make it work here.

Looks good man. I need to trace the wires to my back window. It works with tailgate key switch, and the up works on the the dash switch, but not down.

Picked up some new toys this week. Hopefully I'll have some time to work on the truck one of these days.
