If you plan on doing so again soon, hit me up and let me know. There are some cool trials up here that we could grab a few buddies to go along with us.

A Dilemma of Sorts
In March of 2012, I parked my 4Runner because the 3.0 head gasket started to go as well as various other things were starting to act up. I have driven it a few times since it was parked, but no more than 5 miles have been put on it since then. I keep it because I got it when I was 15; It was my first car; My baby. But keeping it doesn't do it or me any good. Being a 3.0, it needs much work to be in a condition for me to drive it again. On the other hand, I can;t bring myself to sell it for the reasons mentioned above. But today, the 4Runner has a chance to be resurrected.
After parking my 4Runner, I bought a 1989 Chevy K1500 single cab long bed 5-speed for $2800 and have put around $600 into it, consisting of a new cat and many cosmetic upgrades. As much as I have love this truck, I have grown slightly tired of it. However, it will be missed terribly nonetheless. It is currently for sale.
Somewhere in November of 2012, I bought a 2000 Dodge Durango SLT 4x4 with a 4.7 for $2000. It has brand new 31" mud tires on it and is pretty much flawless. The heater core was shot, so I spend $40 on a heater core, tackled that project over a weekend, and paid the tags of $115. Today, I sold it for $4600.
This is where the dilemma comes in.
It is my nature to invest and flip items. (Keep in mind, I am 18, 19 this month.) I started off 2 summers ago (when I was 16) when I received a $600, double what it usually is. I figured since I was used to living off $300, I should invest the other half. I found a local 89 (1st gen) 4Runner for $300. It was in perfect condition, minus the top and VIN. I parted out and have made about $2200 from it to date. While I was around $1000 in profit from the 4Runner, I bought a 1990 4Runner 3.0 for $600 hoping to swap the engine from the 89 into the 90. Plans fell through. I trades the $600 for a 1969 Chevy C10 long bed which I sold a month later for $1400. Story advances to the Durango and the profit I made off that.
It is my instinct to invest the $4600 from the Durango into something I can flip and continue to profit.
HOWEVER, this $4600 is EXACTLY what I need in order to resurrect the 4Runner and build it to my satisfaction. My dilemma is whether to do what I've been doing the last few years and continue to flip things and continue to profit (though I don;t even know what my profit goal is) or to build the 4runner. The plans I have for the 4Runner (which are necessary for me to drive it) are as follow:
4Runner Ressurrection;
- 3.4 Heart
- Long Travel
- Chevy 63's
- Drive Train Lift
- 10 Bolt Rear w/ G80.
- 33" or 35" A/T or M/T Tires
Budged:
- Wrecked 4Runner ($1200)
- Long Travel ($1200)
- Chevys ($200)
- Drive Train ($600)
- Axle ($300)
-Tires ($1000)
Currently, my estimations add up to $4500. I know there will be unexpected costs here and there as well as my estimations are not exact. (I have seen 4Runners go for $800-1000. I would then part out the rest of it, as well as sell my 3.0.) I would love to have bumpers on it as well, but did not account for those as those plans are not necessary for the truck to be driven. I have some cash saved up for unexpected expenses.
I would absolutely love to save my 4Runner. As mentioned above, my truck is for sale too, so I'd always be able to continue my investment work with the profit from that sale.
So the question is...
4Runner or Bust

I'm just curious as to why you want a 10 bolt rear? The stock rear can handle what your doing with no problems. So if you really wanted to replace it though why don't you put pure beef and go with a 14bolt you can snag one off cl for dirt cheap? Just run one set of 8 lug wheels? And my vote is defintly towards fixing your 4runner then you'll eventually have money again to start flipping rigs.
