B-Rax 1988 4Runner build up thread

4Runner needs weather strip for the hard top sliding windows
I hope the title is specific enough. Heres the deal, i just bought an 88 4runner and am looking to restore then build it. ive been doing alrite replacing most of what needs to be replaced. one thing that i can not find on hte web is the weather stripping that goes around the sliding windows on the hard top. does anyone know a good website that will have these?
Also i want to put 33s on my truck and have seen multiple views on which lift i should use, i dont really want to do a suspension lift and was wondering what the best options are. and what else i would need to upgrade or modify.

Buddy of mine went to a local auto glass shop and they had something that worked.

I have a nice 2" lift that would work nicely on your 4Runner

32's are probably the biggest you want to go before re-gearing. for 33's, i'd go to 4:56 or 4:88

(i think i got that right?)

as for the wabbit lift, i'm planning on getting one next year. top quality stuff

Thanks Ian. im new to all this. does 1 inch make that big of a difference? Any way thanks for the help guys this truck has been a pain ever since i bought it. fake title, addict owner, fake plates on it, and got pulled over on the way home.... and in the great state of VA it could be 90 days in jail. find out on the 18th.

after cranking my torsion bars (search around for some of the terms), 1" of height made a big difference for me. check out page 3 of my build thread, where i installed add-a-leafs and tightened the torsion bars. best $100 spent (outside of the engine).

As far as lifts go, do BJ spacers up front and add-a-leafs in back. I fit my 33's doin that. As far as re-gearing goes. I have the stock 4.10 gears with the 22re (4cyl) engine and it does fine. I have 4.56 gears i'm going to throw in but you can get away with 4.10's on 33's.

Also don't crank your torsion bars unless you want a really rough ride.

And as for the rust on my rig. It doesnt have any holes and nothing needs to be replaced. it just needs a new paint job. luckily the guy i bought it from was from Texas so it didnt rust too bad.

The bj spacers, extended shocks, add-a-leafs and u-bolt flip kit cost me around $500 and i think i paid $200 for the 4.56 gears (both front and rears were $200 together). So a total of around $700

Oh and you can get away with 33's and no lift, just gotta cut your fenders accordingly lol. IT CAN BE DONE!

Here's a pickup on 37's no lift

And a 4Runner on 37's no lift

Thats what i've been trying to figure out. there seems to be enough room around my 31"
tires now. which leads me to my next question did some of these things come with a body lift? mine has bushing between the body and frame and seems to sit higher then some i see on the roads.

And have you put up any photos with your 33s on yet

another question..... upon further inspection someone put a block under the leaf springs on top of the axle. the u bolts are after market. it looks like someone tryed to fix a sag problem. will this change my options?

and is that even safe?
