88 extra cab 6.0 6sp project
swapping a lq4 6.0 into my 88 pick up. looking to build a sleeper daily.
ill be backing up the 6.0 with a t56 trans.
i picked up the motor the other day and now im searching for a trans.
i plan on lowering the truck as much as possible for handling reasons. ill be figuring everything out as i go. just thought id start a build thread.
goals for the project is to be a dd/sleeper with 400whp. im planning on spending about 4500. i have a 1000 into the truck and 1250 in to the motor so far.

I like the idea, that's a good motor it's LS based so practically same motor used in corvettes, if I remember right like it pushes stock like 300 hp or somewhere close to that range. Only downfall in my opinion is the LQ4 uses cast aluminum cylinder heads which I'm not a huge fan of. By the way in case you're wondering I've owned a few Chevy's, I also had a 94' Pontiac Formula Firebird with an LS4 and the thing had balls for days, I remember I had to get out of it about 120mph cause I thought my rear axle was gonna go. Anyways dude, will be subscribing and if you ever need anything hit me up.

Lq4 supposly has 325hp the lq9 has 345hp I really wanted to get the lq9 but I couldn't justify spending a 400-500 more for the extra gain. I tore the engine down a little to clean it up and I already like how simple it is. I've read that the Toyota v6 rear ends can handle 500 Hp i dont think i belive that so I'm gonna put that to the test.
