Well I've wanted for 1sr Gen for almost 15 years and finally pulled the trigger. Picked up an almost rust free 86 5 speed and the build has started.
Goals for this truck are to be streetable so I can drive it 2-3 days a week and be as unstoppable as possible off-road. It'll be used for camping/fishing, some expedition style trips and random wheeling here and there. Here's what I have so far

SAS with 5:29s, Spool rear and grizzly front. All Pro front bumper and sliders, trail gear rear bumper and a Smittybilt Winch. Also going to be running upgraded axle shafts, brakes and a dual case. Truck will sit on a 4 inch HD lift and 37x12.5s. This is the start but the future probably holds an engine swap and full cage. Here's some photos so far, just started the SAS.

What front axle are you using? if 79-85 your driveshaft is gonna be on the wrong side for the d/s drop set of duals...

And that case is not set up for Twin Sticks...

 

I'm freaking out right now... How'd I mess that up !? It even said for 1980-1995 Toyota 4 cylinders.

So Trail Gear sent me the wrong TC but they have already shipped out the correct one.
Also, got the IFS out and the solid axle is being prepped now.
