Waiiiiiiit a minute.....I can't speak for Brandon... but I was under the impression this was an 85!!!! for 250$! I NO LONGER HATE YOU! hahaha.. JK, and NOT EVEN saying it's a POS cuz it's not an 85... Just thought you'd found another SFA rig for 250$ .... to kinda piece together ole GIJUNK! hahaa.
LOVE that color, when pristine.... Have you seen one with fresh Blueberry Blue paint? I've posted my 83 enough, which had that color... but DAYUMMMMM, probably my favorite flat Toyota Color.... Along with White and Desert Tan(with the right set up). HECK, even the Flat Green ones in earlier years are nice, and very rare, too.
HAVE A GOOD ONE, GI Have fun with that! Start hackin/de-rustin/mod'n/..... OR SHOOT, just drive it on the land as is? hahaa.

update!! On the silver truck...
dont exactly know where i left off, or what i'm gonna skip over in this update, so just ask.
uhhhh, frames painted....NO! figured i'd go back and strip it all off and throw some red oxide rusty metal primer on there. IMO It'll last longer/be more rust durable. Okay, body work....all bad panels are off, and new ones are good to go. PICS!
cool picture before a storm
new fender and grille
old fender, and hood, and louver (well no pics of the old hood, but you know what it looks like)
cant tell it here but the louvers pretty bent up
New (well old angus parts) parts with bodywork done and primer!
prepped for paint (kinda...getting there) and bodywork on the fender
old bed saying bye-bye
bed getting prepped and body-worked, and primed. Used ALOT of fiberglass resin, instead of junky old bondo or regular filler.
here it is all ready waiting for paint and some patch panels i already have cut out from the old silver bed
and the frame red-oxide-d, and axle getting prepped for some red oxide, then finally some black, semi-gloss or maybe full gloss. Dont know yet.

got a set of sliders to throw on it too, looking at maybe buying a badland rear bumper. Dont really want to do any wheeling with a truck this nice, just prevent anybody damaging me all that much if they were to hit me

Awesome panel patching. I see you lurking in the background with a recip saw. Did you use that to trim the new panels? Is it cordless? Your garage floor always looks clean. What brand of epoxy did ya'll use on the floor?

and why would that be?
hmm, saw would be a rigid brand, great saw best i ever used....I always kind of steered away from battery saws, but it performs almost as good as my power "sawzall" and is much easier to use. use it mostly for cutting up scrap/just junk laying around wether its metal or wood.
Patch panels were cut out with a 4" air grinder and smoothed/shaped with a 6" (i think) flap disc angle air grinder, maybe like 80 grit.
and thanks for the compliment!! I LOVE keeping the work area spotless, but thats hard to do. Always clean up after any job, floor to cieling wall to wall. Anyway, paint is rust oleum epoxy shield 2-part garage floor kit or something along those lines. Its good stuff IMO real easy to keep clean. Almost anything will mop right off of it. Only 4 complaints, its not very U.V resistent, so the areas around the doors, mostly the big garage door are turning yellow, and i dont think its been a year yet. secondly, it chips easy, drop a wrench or something heavier and you get a chip. Thirdly, it says on the box its resistant to all automotice fluids. Apparently not brake fluid....i have some yellow spots on the floor from brake fluid i'm not too happy about And fourth, you cant weld on it or around it. it burns the epoxy and you get little brown spots. The 2 things i miss the most is laying out some steel on the concrete floor and going at it with the welder, and not having to worry about dropping stuff like wrenches for example, bumpers, tow hooks, rotors, all that stuff.
But to sum it up, i like it alot, really transforms the place and brightens it up. Motor oil, tranny fluid, all that stuff just mops right up wich is great.

I am liking the silver on your truck. I have a 85 Extra cab that I think I will go about the same setup you are going with this winter. Just went through your thread again and liked seeing how far indepth you go with these. Great job.

Sorry ladies and gentleman, I could have sworn I finished this build thread...seeing where I left off I see I have a lot of progress not yet released to the public. Untill I upload the rest of the pictures, and write all about it, heres a snotty cell phone shot of her cherryness for you to feast your eyes upon. Parked next to my buddies 4runner. This was back when it was still cold out!...wow, its been a long time.
And one from wawa before all the finishing touches were done

It looks great! If you don't post some progress pictures we're going to think you took the easy way out and just bought a completed truck.
Did you ever replace the parts you stole off of poor Angus?

Got any more pictures of how you went about your progress. 10 different people will have 10 different ways and you got some things that could teach us out here. Congrats again.

With all of the rust on that frame, how did you get it all off? I have a 94 pickup that was driven in lots of strip mud(mountaintop removal mine mud) and it's got holes in the frame, how did yours not? I'm amazed, and good work though.
