So last night I went and picked up my new project, an 87 SR5 4runner 22re 5spd with 190k on the clock.I paid the guy a whopping $400 and I was able to drive it 45 minutes home. What a steal!!! It has light rust on the usual spots and the driverw front fender has a good size hole so that will be replaced shortly. it was a rear seat delete model but the PO had gotten a back seat out of something at a junkyard and threw it in. everything works in the truck but it did have a rejected inspection sticker but it only failed for wiper blades and headlights so i fixed that today. here are some pics of how it looked when i picked it up (Not liking the old school aluminum running boards!!!)




Heres a few more pics after i got rid of the running boards and the chrome fender trim, and cleaned it up a little to see if i could get it to shine a little..... WAY BETTER!!!




its gonna be getting a SAS and a bunch of other goodies but waiting on my bank to catch back up to my wants. Let me know if you have any good ideas or and major things you suggest me doing. not my first runner but my first 1st gen. its gonna be DD and trail truck. i have another car so no biggie if it breaks but wanna keep it somewhat nice. thanks for looking

 

oh...... by the way I have a 83 front axle sitting in my shed waiting to go under it! cant wait!

 

wow great find! in the newbie section theres endless amounts of great info to get you started! id say good tires and a locker will be a good start point.
