Interesting looking CV boots. What are they?

Great looking truck by the way.

They are the remanufactured units from Napa. The left and right ones are actually just a little different. Napa said it's just the difference in where ever they get rebuilt, and not to worry about it.

Subscribed! I think you're aiming for a similar setup to what I'm going for with my 88, so I'll be watching closely.

Nice start, looks like you need these steering stops, you have none!

Bumper looks awesome! It does look like there should be something under the stinger though... Like something is missing? Any plans for a winch?

On the previous page he mentions making it removable for future winch plans

No winch for this one, it's tucked too close to the grill. I might add a plate in that middle space, but I've built other bumpers like this one and left the space open. This bumper is meant to be simple and offer some protection, nothing too crazy.

Got it mounted, but I have to pull it off to open up the 2 mounting holes on the underside. One bolt went in with my impact, the other wouldn't even start, and it holds my tow hook, so I definitely want that bolt in there. I think the license plate fills the middle in just fine.

Thanks. I see way too many people with big, heavy, overhanging winch bumpers who don't ever put winches on and it bothers me. I like to keep things as simple as possible, and if there's not going to be a winch, why have the mount?

I anyone is interested in a bumper like this it's roughly 140 degrees for the stinger bend set at a 20 degree angle from the truck, and the 2 side wings are 66 degree bends. Really easy to make. Just line everything up with the grill bottom. Not much tape measure time even.

The mirrors were on there, and are garbage, but oh well. Tuck looks great. The 1980 can be seen here. It was a true junkyard build.

you could find and original pair of mirrors, maybe from a 3rd gen pick up.

those bumpers look aweosome, maybe a better pic of the rear?

I need a soft top like that on my pick up for camping, what brand is on yours?

congrats with this truck, such a great deal
