My find was on Reno craigslist back in july 08.I had an 85 x-cab that I started to build.but did not like the carb for 4 wheeling on hills.it kept stalling.So I started looking for a EFI x-cab or 4 runner.And found a 85 deluxe 4 runner.The way it was when I got it home was: DOA Motor,Skyjacker 3" Lift Outlaw II's with BFG A.T.'s Stock Bumpers.Thing's' I've changed in 3 year's. Went to 31x10.50x15 Toyo M.T.'s.Yes they have that size now.With nearly 40,000 mile's on them,an Awesome tire.3 month's after I got it someone had a 14 Gallon gas tank that mount's where the spare tire go's.For $225, New they are $630.Now both tanks filled are 28 gallon and 550-600 mile.Yes I'm loving it.I also added a cold air intake and did away with the airbox.Instant power! Last November got 4:56 gears and a Sparton rear locker.and will go to 32's for my next tire's.I was going to get some BFG M.T.'s or Pro-Comp M.T.'s in a 31x12.50x15. But they stopped selling them.so i will go to the 32's.So if I decide to go to an 15x10 I can.I also got trail gear rock sliders and a Marlin Crawler rear bumper and moved my smitty built front bumper over from my old 85 x-cab to my 4 runner.i hope to soon have picture's.I'm enjoying everyone else's trucks on here too. P.S. I also added a 1" rear shackle lift,Too make up for the nearly 150 pound's from the other gas tank.Now it rides close to level.I almost forgot a few other goodies. Thorly headers and a #40 Flowmaster with 2.1/4" pipe.And no cat on it.because we do not have smog where I live.I also added 1 1/2" wheel spacers to the back and 1" to the front.so the wheels and tires are not so far under my truck.It is also a 5sp.I wish I would have gotten 4:88's for 33's.But I think with the D.O.A. motor,The way it is set up and the 4:56 gears.I still can.I just don't want to go up the hill to Lake Tahoe like when I had 4:10 gears and 31's in 3rd gear and 40 mph.It SUCKED! I cannot tell a lie I got some masking tape and and white paint and a brush and painted my Black shell White.I just did not want to bake when I camp out in the back of my runner.Beside's a Red truck and white shell look a lot better to me.Then Red and Black.
