AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Every single time I come here... you give me an 'itch to upgrade' in some way! hahahaha.

I meant every word I've said, man.... mainly; GREAT FREAKING WORK! I mean..... I'm so far from this type of stuff... And I might not ever have time to learn it/apply it...... BUT, I can and should have goals to at least try, right? hahaha. The rig is just SICK, ...in fact it's "Flesh eating bacteria"-LEVEL-Sick at this point... and only gonna turn terminal, as moving forward! ... hahaha.

Was gonna see about giving you a call soon, Sir.... I feel like I have your Number already.... but don't see it in my phone. Could you shoot me a PM?

One question I have..... I was talking to JustDSM about a swap, whether on this rig or otherwise.... And he seems to REALLY be in favor of the big 3.... 3RZ, 5VZE, 1UZ, saying that the 1UZ is clearly the most labor and 'manipulation' and 'squeezing things in' intensive...... The reason I brought it up..... Pick-Your-Part is having 50% off this weekend... They currently have 3 1UZ vehicles, NONE of them looked ghetto or bad at all.. And the engine on the 2 LS400's(93 and 94) were IMMACULATE! Even the oil looked good. The SC400(92) was clean, but the oil smelled a lil... well, Burnt more than the others. Meh, maybe he didn't change the oil soon enough.

Anywayyyyyyyyyyy, .... it would probably go into a donor rig, not mine... BUT, I wondered if you could GUESS, totally a rough estimate.... How long would this take me if I REALLY dove into it full time hours, aside from work and life. (5 hours a day).... To swap in a 1UZ?

Far as the 'call me' stuff... I would like to get the sliders on there. (MAYBE a front and rear bumper... But that would be more than a one day thing, I'm sure, hahaha) I am REALLY excited to relearn how to weld.... HECK, it's been so long(high school), that I probably should just say "Learn how to", lol. My teacher said, "You do nice tight waving'..... How funny is it that I can't even remember what that means(assuming it's the tightness together of each pause in a seam, but ).... But I remember him saying that? 25 YEARS AGO??????? hahahaha.

But anyway, sorry to clutter your beautiful trucks thread with this crap..... If you can talk, cool... lemme know, k?

PS> I am PROBABLY more likely, if I ever did swap into this rig, to do a 3RZ... I just REALLY want better mileage. BUT, with a 3RZ, going into this tank, lol.... I know I could get better mileage than the 22RE by a lil bit... So maybe 18-26mpg's, max either way, if treating it right and hitting the sweet spots.... (Problem is... the yards almost NEVER have 3RZ's... and the day they come in, they're nearly picked clean by that 'CREW' THAT i WANT TO SLAUGHTER!!! )

BUT, a 1UZ.... more like 14-18mgp's, max, right? I just remember a buddy getting like 22MPG's in his LS400.... It was CLEAN and he kept it like off the lot, new! ... Isn't the LS400 nearly as heavy as my 1st Gen? I gotta look that up, lol. I KNOW one thing... it's DEFINITELY got better aerodynamics! lol.

Thanks for all of the compliments and comments! Its definitely been a learning experience over the 2 trucks that ive worked on so far.
And about the Engines....Damn i wish i knew more about the swaps but unfortunately i know very little =/ ...I would personally go with a 2rz or 3rz but still have very limited knowledge on the install...Until i get one under my belt. If u do bit the bullet and do the swap let me know and ill help u with whatever i can. Ill shoot u a pm with my #

COOL! And yeah, I hear ya on the 'limited knowledge on swaps'.. lol... I could use lots more research before biting the bullet.. BUT, if I can decide on 'which motor', then grab it for 50% off?????? Man... that's a tough one to resist, ya know? At least I could have it ready and do the HG, etc., just for reassurance sake. Maybe timing belt, gasket set, etc.

LOTS of threads on it.... But as I said, don't wanna clutter your thread. Sorry man. I'll give you a ring.

Yeah not a bad idea...ANYTHING can be done. I dont mind anyone posting on my thread...Its just a timeline for me n my projects. I post what i can to give back ideas that ive used over time looking at hundreds of other trucks and people's innovations.

I'M SOLD! Please sign me up for one of those, Homie! hahahaha... BUMPER IS BA!

****************

Hey man, ..... I just spent last week hitting PYPart and such... And I wondered what you thought about the springs I picked up for 28$..........

1998 Dakota Springs, (4 Leaf Version, 5 leaf version is only 1100# capacity, 4 leaf is 1800# Capacity)......

They are 24/32, 56" total, got them with shackle hanger in the rear and u-bolts and plate(Dakota are 'Under Axle' set up... Wasn't sure if it'd be useful, but they didn't charge me extra for ANYTHING, so I grabbed it all, bolts and all. Couldn't grab the Hanger/Shackle mounts as they're Riveted to the Frame... But was told "You wont need those, not a big deal".... ) .....

Here's some pics.......

.......Thought I'd share what I have by way of pics/info, as it might help?

.......Also, I talked this over with a buddy, and he said, "While the 63's are HUGE flex, etc.... You probably don't want them as they're 1. too much lift, 2. too long and will cause axle wrap and spring forward angle issues, 3. NOT practical for the limited amount of wheeling you do in comparison to street driving."

........Alcan, TG and other spring kits do come in 56"... So that, in addition to the added #capacity, might be a pretty decent upgrade/mod to the 'Leaf Spring Set Up'.... Maybe even possible to flip kit them if that's practical as well????

************************************************** *************

Just throwing it out there to see what you think, bud. I KNOW you have WAY more experience in "practical application" in this area... And while your rig is FAR more aggressive than mine... I do have a 4Runner(Heavier in the rear, they are, indeed), and I do have about 2" now, as it sits, with the Zuk in the rear and 1.5" BJ spacer up front.

I wanted to PUBLICLY thank you for your help, Socal.... It's been CRUCIAL, even so far, in 'getting me thinking' and aspiring to 'get a lil more' out of her.

I just figured it would help to have everything planned out in advance, as much as possible anyhow, ya know?

Thanks Chef and your welcome, always glad to help when i can. As for those springs...what are u trying to achieve with them? More lift to eliminate the Zuk mod? more flex? Stiffer? softer? U can make anything work

Hey Socal....

Well.... I just want to get back to where I am pretty much, in height(maybe an inch more, that's fine as well, whatever will make them work most practically without making it a HARD TAIL or SPONGE BOB! lol)...

I would like a lil more lift than 'STOCK'... not so much more than where I'm at. The rear is at 13.75 or so wheel top to wheel well top..... (I'll have to look to make sure on my pics/Zuk thread, sorry)... I'd also like to simultaneously get a lil more flex with them(figured that would be a given seeing that they're 56" and stock is 48"....).... YET, wanted to avoid the 'instability' factor from running 63's on a DD....

I was also told I wouldn't want to do 'double shackles'.... I guess that makes sense.... ? lol.

I guess I'm more so asking "What do you think of these? They're 2.50" wide, lil more weight capacity and 56" long"........ Will they possibly give me the LIL bit of lift over stock/ LIL better flex/ and MAYBE a lil more comfy ride than with the ZUK? (it's a lil stiff on street bumps... BUT, pretty nice off road... Yet, I NEVER SAID, even in my thread, that I planned to keep it forever, ya know? It's done VERY well for me, especially in carrying TONS of weight while camping, etc./Sucked up the "4runner sag factor", etc. But I don't feel they're 'THE BEST' solution... the best would be new Leafs, riht? )

Yup thats sounds about right...I think its worth a try for $28!! should be Pretty simple to swap it out too. You'll probably only need to get some longer shackles and definitely NOT the double shackle deal....lol. Let me know when the operation begins and ill come give ya a hand

Very nice build. I have some catching up to do. Rear main on mine needs to be addressed in the near future. Ill take care of it when I finally swap my Marlin Dual Ultimates in...

Keep up the great work.
