Haha yea you were right. I even sold my Heep and bought another 1st gen 4runner. The 4runner sorta took over as DD status. I still drive the pickup 3-4 days a week.

Anyhow I got a ton done today in preparations for tomorrow's wheeling trip. Got my diff guards welded on and painted. Finished swapping in my 5.29 third in, bled the brakes, filled it up with gear oil and went for a test drive.

A lil update: Added a new hood decal. Its hard to tell in the pics, but the decal is silver. Also have started placing orders on new parts. The pickup will be getting slightly more lift, decided to do rears up front to stretch the axle forward 2 inches or so and then do a high steer setup on the truck. Pics soon to come as parts begin rolling in.

Also about a week ago we got a ton of snow here in NC. Well that weekend my friend and I decided a trip up to the mountains was in order to do a little bit of snow wheeling. So off to Blowing Rock we went. Here are some pics from the trip:

Got my new 10k winch installed on the pickup today. Install went fairly easy. Had to trim the grill a bit to get the winch to fit, and decided to do a side mount solenoid box until I can relocate it to the engine bay. Very happy with the purchase overall. Cant beat it for $150. Hooked the cable to a tree and respooled the winch today for a test and although slow works awesome. Also recently repainted my DCs on the 4runner. I like the black wheels much better than the polished alum. And lastly a messing around picture for good measure. Drove my truck up on the 4runner's tire and tried to snag a pic. Found out the e-brake needs some adjusting haha as it started to slip.

No its some off brand 10k winch I bought new for 150 bucks. It was too cheap I couldnt pass it up. I already used it twice to pull friends out and it works great.

The 4runner has a 4inch drop bracket lift and 3inch bodylift. I bought it that way, but plan to remove the body lift this summer and replace it with a long travel suspension up front.

Welp more updates YAY. Ordered a brand new soft top for my 4runner from soft topper. It should be here on Monday. Next, Ive been getting my garage renovated, and found my pickup needs a new clutch. So in goes the old girl for a transmission tear out and clutch replacement.

Here is what the shop used to look like,

Pulled the trans out today. Clutch wasnt quite as bad as I had thought, but still pretty damn bad. Also found out the throwout bearing is BAD. I had a slight chattering noise from the trans, and I am relieve to find that it was just the bearing going out. Not to worry the Aisin kit I bought came with the bearing.

YepI did get myself a softopper for the 4runner. Its awesome and I love it. Been through 2 HUGE rains and is leak free. I did apply the seam sealer it came with on the top seams just incase. Quality is awesome I think, and fit and finish is A+. The top retracts easily and rolls up nicely. Heres a pic of it with the sides rolled up.

Took the ol pickup for a lil shakedown run at URE yesterday along with 2 other yotas. Stock 4runner and a SAS Tacoma that I helped build and do the swap on. Had to pull the white Jeep in the last pick a few times with the winch

So, you made half doors, and even made soft sides for them, but I don't see any photos of you using them. What gives? I'm pregaming a soft-sided half door project, so I'd love to see and hear more about yours.

I actually never finished the passenger side soft skin. The door is done, I just lost motivation to work on it partly due to my GF breaking up with me. She was the one that wanted to go to the beach all the time. Most of my time spent now is up in the mountains and I generally roll with the full doors. I do throw the half doors on to drive around town sometimes. I've been moving my focus from the pickup to my 4runner now though and soon motorcycle ill be picking up on Thursday.
