Hey got some more pics... no real progress yet waiting for the top shift case to come in... and then ill be tearing it all down... figured id post some interior shots

new grant steering wheel.

apline deck. cobra cb... nice combo. the cb works for what i use it when crawlin in large groups...

ya it came stock.. what can i say guess im lucky lol

I think maybe i should go with rocker switches instead of flip... this is the fourth one my knee broke

guess i need to change the sig... gotta love old odo shots altho mine hasnt seen past 90mph in years lol

so i have electric windows... and the switches have been stubborn forever, so I decided that I'd figure out how to fix them... I only did driver side pics considering its basically identical on passenger side,

brackets and screw removed allowing switch to come apart

The switch removed from door panel and brackets removed

back side of rocker switches

actual switch

and what it looks like that happens over time is the metal straps flatten out not allowing the switch to actuate as easily.. so all i did was grab the pocket knife and bend them up into basically i upside down u again

and that has seemingly fixed the switch problem they work flawlessly and almost new... cheap fix cost me all of ten min and good

I know the gear oil is off brand... or 2 me it is. but i figured i could run it until i order my tg springs and axle armor and all that and then probably put some royal purple in or some other type of synthetic

It's already gone... B4 I moved back to tx I had a buddy wit a nice 22rte that was beggin me 4 the canback so I traded him about 500 $ and a 87 rear end... Considering that top was only 2 years old he made off like a bandit, but I was helpin out a friend and trying to limit parts 2 bring back... I think I'm going to be getting in touch with canback in regards 2 a custom doved soft top though... I'm thinking it may be worth the cash...

Ya i love it... opened up nice. and was always handy... most summertime mountain runs always resulted in an afternoon rain and i loved being able to drop the top super quick... I think i may coppy the design or see if they cant do a custom one...

So I know i teased u guys with a linked 4runner, but i think im going to be going with a custom chevy pack out back... I loved DIRTCOs setup on his old one... and then probably a tg all pro or marlin front setup... I considered doing an RUF, but im still unsure maybe if i can find someone elses trial and error custom packs that netted the about 4-5 inches of lift because the eventual goal is 38's with tubbed firewalls (gots cancer figured y not) but thats all in the process this weekend if everything goes as planned i will be tearing the dt down, which btw ill be ordering some axle armor to go ahead and weld on while i have the frt axle tore down so i dont have to do it again until i do an aussie up front and get rid of the tru trac... I hate that damn thing

Ya some of the stuff will be notched off the list, ie aussie locker for the front instead of detroit, but i did leave out dual case skid plate lol, idk although when it is all said and done with it'll go anywhere do just about everything, and be a 75% daily driver, which means essentially ill have a brand new truck that can over excel what a true brand new one costs for half the price... lol thats my whole justification for it.... otherwise id probably a brick when i tallyed it up which is also why i went ahead and tallyed lol

I FINALLY GOT THE CORRECT TOP SHIFT CASE IN TODAY, so ill finish my front axle this weekend swap out my rear and drop the tranny install the marlin clutch and put the "new" transfer case in and then ill be saving again for the crawl box kit tear my old case down make a crawl box out of it and then time to finish the suspension... although what about triple cases? have a 2.28x 2.28x2.28 slightly lower than a 2.28x4.7 lol or maybe go super crazy and put a double 2.28s and a 4.7 transfer lol thats like 5.2X4.7=24.4 reduction.... AM I CRAZY for considerin 3 cases?

haha no way! You'd wanna go with the chromo output shafts and 23 splines at least in the rear though...that's a lot of torque on that little output...not to mention that you have to buy two adapter plates $$$$$$$$ lol

Love your 4runner! Man it was pretty when you first bought it lol
