I talked my pops into giving me his old 84 longbed SR5 pickup. He is the original owner. Its got 110,000 miles on the original 22R 5sp. He made some upgrades back in the day when he actually used it. Its got 2 inch suspension lift done with shackles. Dual shocks on the back. Axel Girders for both the straight axles. Draw tight receiver for some towing. Old 5000lb Warn Wench and bumper. New 32x11.5 R15LT tires. Lot of its old stuff that I will replace when I get the money.

He just replaced clutch but it needs more work for sure. Exhaust system is hammered and needs work. It needs a new header. Front axel is leaking grease. Looses oil pressure when it idles for a while he thinks it is the oil pump or bearings somewhere in the engine. Getting a cylinder head would be a good start for it-I guess.
Rust is obviously the biggest issue with it. I am just going to replace the tailgate. I need to get a new bed or side panels. These are proving to be hard to find. So if anyone has links or tips where to get some please TELL ME!
Once that's taken care of Im going to paint it, put in a bed liner, and cleanup and re-paint the underside. I hear the next important thing is to put in lockers and gear it lower. I just dont have the money for that now. I am going to get a skid plate and armor up everything I can with the money I got. I plan to redo the inside and put in a better stereo too. I will probably get new bumpers for it too-or re-weld the loose parts on the Warn. Lots to do.
