climber87's 1985 4Runner Build-Up Thread

so im one of the luckys that was able to grab a good condition 85 runner.

I'm planning on using the next three weeks to get er cleaned up and to swap the rebuilt 22re from my 87 into her.

couple questions:
-is it easier to take some of the frame/supports in the front off in order to get the whole engine and tranny out at once? or is it even possible to take the whole engine+tranny out at the same time?

Well, since nobody has replied yet- I will.

I hate you. I hate you and everyone else who has been able to find an unmolested 85.

Now that my juvenile side has said his piece- congrats! I don't know the answer to your question (but I would imagine that it would be a fairly simple thing to inspect clutch while doing the swap). I would hazard a guess that one large heavy assembly might be somewhat less awkward than two attached large heavy assemblies might be, but with proper equipment it might be done. Someone may come along who might actually have an answer more useful than this rambling, and as such- I shall lie and say that this waste of your time and the time of whomever has bothered to read this was intended to "bump" your post and not, in fact, to say that I hate you.

Also, I want to see pics.
