Well Its about time I started one of these instead of just leaching off other people, I need to make my own contributions also.

1985 Toyota Pickup ext cab Sr5 all the bells and whistles. (sunroof, power antenna, and power windows(removed for manual cause switches took a crap))
Picked it up bone stock from the next city up from me and drove it home.


First time out Redington pass, local trail to Tucson, AZ.

Quickly figured out the previous owner was crazy and who ever rebuild the engine did a poor job. After throwing a pile of parts at it to get reliable and solid again, I took it out and broke a rear leaf spring.

So... I did what anyone would do



Trail gear 4"kit all around.

TG make a good kit but Two major problems I ran into was front shackle angle being to low of a degree so I had to move the front axle forward and Those neck beaker bump stops they included had to go so I put some nice daystars on there.The front springs are also a little softer then I would of liked. but what can ya do.



Then was time to do some pinch weld work, To keep those 35's away from my fire wall.

WOW 5 months without a post, I havent done a TON of work but have defiantly made some changes and am gearing up for a major transformation soon.

Unrelated to my truck but I finally had to build a welding cart for my favorite tool to use on the yota.

 

Next Although the build has been slow I have been spending my fair share of time out in the trails surrounding Tucson, AZ With friends

 

finally going to ditch those warn hubs for some aisins that I bought used and am refurbishing.








Also grabbed a couple things I thought were cool at the junkyard.

got my aisin hubs refurbished with new seals and rings and finally got rid of the warn hubs

Yes I did a full refurbish including paint

 

That thing is beautiful. Exactly what I want, but Im on a high school budget Great work man!

 

how long have you had those km2's? im curious how long they'll last out there in az. mileage wise too.

I've had then about a year( the tires) purchased brand new there about half tread right now might get two years out of them prolly 30,000 I drive way to much

 

Cool. Just curious, how did you paint the fine detail of the white letters free and lock? Also are they powder coated?
